A lot of people say going to a Mamamoo concert is worth every cent. Imagine this level of vocals WITH A LIVE BAND & A DIFFERENT, MORE GRAND ARRANGEMENT... and these ladies actually perform 200% better infront of a crowd. Still waiting for my country to be included in their world tour this year!

just abit of info for you guys, the rapper moonbyul initially wanted to join as a singer but became the rapper and has the most copyrighted credits as a female in k-pop. Also Hwasa in the grey sweatpants was full of cold on this day and still smashed it her vocals are usually even better. They've all got some good solo songs aswell

Moonbyul, the rapper, is actually a vocalist but the company basically said "nah, you rap now" lmao. She recently won a vocal competition over in Korea. That whole group is seriously insanely talented, one of the few groups that sound even better live, and they all have solo careers as well. You know Hwasa's "Maria" already, she also has "Twit" and "I'm a B", and if you want a ballad from her, "LMM" is gorgeous. I think you'd like Wheein's solo songs, too. Check out "Easy" and "Make Me Happy". Both Hwasa and Wheein lean R&B in their solo stuff. Moonbyul's genres are all over the place, she can (and will) do it all: "Eclipse", "G999", "Cheese In The Trap" are good examples of her range. Solar's got "Spit It Out" and "Honey", both great.

Mamamoo truly iconic group in Korean music industry. They write and produce their own songs including the rap, they choreograph their dance routines and their lyrics and sound is so mature and fresh every single time. Their discography is one of the richest in the industry with so many different genres and styles. They always love to experiment with their music and every single song is different. I hope you guys check out their music videos and live performances along with some of their funny compilations bcoz they are chaotic asf.

Went to their concert last week and I must say listening to their voices live was 10000x much better. Worth every cent - felt like I didn't deserve them. Very professional and entertaining!!! Their vocals and stage presence is unreal!!!

Kpop songs often have different titles in English, as in No Nah Hey vs Egotistic. No nah hey could be translated as "Do it yourself" - in other words "If you're going to be an egotistic bastard then do it yourself, I'm outta here."
Solar sang Whitney's I Will Always Love You as her audition piece for RBW. You can find vids of her singing a short version of the song on a couple of tv shows. Mamamoo's vocal style is influenced by old school African American jazz and r&b singers to a greater degree than any of the other current kpop girl groups and they started off back in 2014 doing a retro style that harkened back to swing era jazz and 60's soul music. Besides Whitney some of the other singers Solar has covered or named as influences include Nancy Wilson, Peggy Lee, Eartha Kitt, Celine Dion, Naomi Scott and Amy Winehouse.
Moonbyul is a converted singer who was forced to be Mamamoo's rapper in order to be part of the group. Solar helped Moonbyul work on her rap chops and she quickly took to her new role and developed a style of melodic rap that's uniquely her own. Like how MMM is thought of as the top female singing group Moonbyul is considered to be one of if not the best girl group rapper and since she almost always writes her own rap verses she has also become the most highly credited female songwriter in kpop. Moonbyul rarely sang on MMM songs until 2018 but she's been doing it more and more in recent years and is basically another weapon in MMM's killer vocal line at this point. Moonbyul recently participated in a tv series called The Second World where 8 girl group rappers competed as singers. She won in a landslide.
Gogobebe is a fun song but they weren't messing around and singing random things. Their duality as serious artists vs total crackheads is legendary but there's always a method to their madness. For example, in this medley they start off Gogobebe in the middle of the song with Moonbyul rapping 9 / 6, 6 19, which is an in joke for the fandom and a clever palindrome with the slash becoming a 1 when you reverse 9 / 6. Mamamoo likes to play with numbers and letters and Gogobebe is aka 9966 with 9 replacing g and 6 replacing b. 6 19 is Mamamoo's debut date in 2014. The surface level message of the song is "Put aside your troubles and dance the night away." There's more to it than that but I won't spoil it for you.
Gogobebe is the final title track in MMM's epic four album series called 4 Season 4 Color, in which they released one EP per season from early spring in Mar 2018 to late winter in Mar 2019. You've reacted to Starry Night, which is the first title track in the series. Next was Egotistic and then Wind Flower. The multi-layered concepts and cyclical symbolism in 4 Season 4 Color make it the most complex, ambitious project ever done by a girl group in kpop or anywhere else and it's a landmark achievement in kpop history.

I have literally watched Mamamoo’s killing voice 100 times including just about every reaction and this one is now my favorite! Y’all are funny as hell but also paid such good attention to them. I’m just amazed at how well you guys can imitate them. I’m going to look forward to more Mamamoo on your channel. But yeah, they are the best female vocal group and even MoonByul (rapper) is a really good singer. They are honestly just built different from every other group and they do what they want when they want. They have a free spirit vibe and the best chemistry. They are highly respected by other artists and groups because of their own artistic abilities being highly involved in their music and incredible live performances. I don’t think anyone interacts with an audience as well as Mamamoo does. Check out their live stages like MAMA 2018 and 2019. All their award show performances are always good.
