I love Ethiopian food as I'm eating some right now. (Leftovers). It has to be one of the most healthiest food. The bread is loaded with nutrients and I always feel better eating this food. Not to mention the doctor says I lack protein, and iron in my diet and that I have a low blood sugar. I should start making Ethiopian dishes at home.
My Ethiopian friend in college took me to this Ethiopian restaurant. I really enjoyed the food, and EVERYONE I have taken there since, has enjoyed the food. The way the spiced food goes with beer is amazing - I've never enjoyed beer so much, with any other food. Ethiopian is definitely in my top 3 favorite ethnic foods. Very tasty, with just the right amount of spice. It's on the healthy side too. I am surprised it's not more popular.
@@queenbbeaute2654 they are comparing it in the title of the video. that is why i commented that . not trying to say nothing bad about pizza. i love pizza too. greetings
For those who are turned off by the sharing aspect, ask your server for an extra plate. They always have smaller plates for those who are new to Ethiopian food and are uncomfortable, I assume they hold off on it until someone asks. But the whole point is to share as a family, because food tastes best when shared with the ones you love.
Charmanderaznable No I didn't click on it because it said it will be as popular as the pizza. I clicked on it because I liked eater video's and it was on auto-play.
Danforth Avenue around Monarch Park Ave in Toronto is becoming an Ethiopian neighborhood. I am intrigued by the positive vibe; the food, the colors, the music, good-looking women... Looks like a mix of African and Indian to me. I can imagine Ethiopian food becoming a commercial hit like pizza if someone figures out how to package it for take-out/fast food - shouldn't be that difficult with the enjera, see the success of take-out Surinam roti in the Netherlands.
Food is the way to get to a person's heart. Immigrants bring foreign foods to our cities and our stomachs, and that is one way to be more accepted in a country, to start your own business and to contribute to the community around you.
Hey all, I am an Ethiopian who is living in Europe for the last 27 years and I was in Italy too. Pizza is good but it realy depends how and by whom it is made like evry food. I ate in Italy home made pizza, it was good but when I compare with Ethiopian home made food then Ethiopian food beat pizza 10:0. Belive me those Ethiopian restaurants in Western countries by any means can not cook original Ethiopian food and dish. But if you test the original food it is absoloutly diffrent song than a pizza which is very simple to made it while some Ethiopian dishes which are made can take like 4 houres or more like Doro wot. So please do not compare diffrent things.
Kitfo is actually often eaten with kocho (flatbread made from ensete) and ayibe be-gomen (cottage cheese with cabbage). But you cannot get kocho in this country-- you have to get it from Ethiopia!
Please retitle asap! ... Pizza is full of unhealthy cheese, processed meat, gluten junk ... Whereas Ethiopian food is super grain Teff, very healthy, classy attractive ... Come on now! Compare pizza with KFC or other junk ...
I love the way the food looks but my boyfriend is allergic to gluten so idk if of we could go to these resturants after all they said bread Maybe if they have a gluten free option
Krillz Saying something is never going to happen is kind of insulting to the diverse community we live in the US. And, there are an abundance of other popular foods.
Nind 10do I don't see it as insulting because the title is misleading. Pizza is one of, if not the most popular, dish in the US. I haven't said anything bad about the ethiopian food, but it's very unrealistic. I actually like ethiopian food but saying that it will become more popular than pizza is fucking wrong. Especially in the capital of the country that eats most pizza in the world.
A very unfortunate title completely derailed the comment from the flavor of Ethiopian cuisine to a silly useless comparison. As an Ethiopian, I find it sad that the comment is about defending Pizza rather than about the Ethiopian food, which is one of the best in my view.
every food has a way of eating you can eat always with fork and spoon apparently some people in the comments are having tough time processing that and to me the best food is the food eaten with hands.
as much I wish it become popular as pizza(that's the Ethiopian in me speaking) it wouldnt, it's not a type of food you eat on the go, it requires time to cook. Nevertheless its yummy and super healthy compare to pizza.
@@tonyzan5268 that's true...but if you live in a smaller spread out tacky fast food no where that only has strip malls and sprawling good ol USA franchise cookie cutter resturants than pizza is nothing but fast food to some on here.
As an Ethiopian, i will say it won't be as popular until they turn it into fast food, like Pizza. Pizza is popular because, it's less messy, requires no talent to make, and Italians have been in America since the 1800s, Ethiopians came in the 1990s, for goodness sake. Most Americans have no patience so fast food is their specialty. Ruin the food and it will become popular. Just ask Italians from Italy. They will tell you American Pizza is horrendously bad.
Honestly it should be Ethiopian AND Eritrean Food because we have a LOT of similarities and our foods are the same. I really hope both cultures (basically horn of africa = Somali, Djibouti, etc.) start to get more positive recognition because we have an amazing culture and amazing history and I feel like people just know from social media that it's a poor country and they always make ignorant, unnecessary remarks/Jokes. I really hope people start to realize how our culture is like, and not only in my area but everywhere in Africa, Asia, etc. Social media fucks up everything from beauty standards to my home, Africa. So I'm hoping that this new generation, people will start understanding cultures and I feel like that will help people like me have so much pride and be happy to be where I'm from because back then, saying you were from Ethiopia (for example) was embarrassing because of how social media made us look bad...but now the community is getting better, thank God ❤❤
