Wonderful to see this. Around 2000, I had a brief but nice conversation with Pat Bruder on the subway in NYC. She seemed pleased to be recognized and appreciated. It is a shame they didn't have her back on the show after she left

I've wanted to see this ever since you posted a short teaser and so far it's definitely worth the wait.
I'm so glad they didn't have Ellen take the news stoically - unlike Nancy, who had her family to care for, Ellen had no one in Oakdale aside from some friends. A part of Ellen always seemed to remain that scared girl, and you can see it here (the curls help). It's a heartbreaking performance from Pat Bruder.
David was recurring for so long that I can't get into the reactions of the rest.

@Oakdalian I just sat with her for a few stops and told her how much I enjoyed her as Ellen, and felt she was part of my family,...the usual fan thing. . She just smiled and said thank you, and said she appreciated it....she was so gracious, so classy. I really didn't make more of the opportunity because I didnt want to bother her.

@CarlD2 David died quite suddenly, which must have made the experience more traumatizing. At least Chris was at an age when his death might be more expected.
So many people wanted Ellen to return before the end. Though her demographic was well represented by Kim and Lisa, it would have been nice to see her stick around and go from scared to feisty. The long held tension with Lisa and Susan could have been a great source of that.

@Oakdalian There was so much to explore with Susan/Ellen/Emily, and even Allison. I hate when people say that you don't need returns and returns are just sops for fans. Sometimes returns can enhance story. I think Lyla and Ellen would have done this.

@txquis Anyone I ever met from ATWT was just as you described. No bad apples, it seems.

@txquis Wow, what did she have to say about ATWT?
