Honestly, Robin, you have such a knack and an eye for decorating. The chairs look great. I would add a little ottoman to put my feet up. Unless the chairs are not comfortable, I wouldn't change them. When I moved back to Georgia, we bought a house with a huge living room and volume ceilings. There were just two of us and the room felt cavernous. The breakfast area was very generous and had a bay window, so I made a cute sitting area in there with two loveseats and an adorable bakers rack. I loved that area. The bakers rack held a small tv and it kept me company while cooking and we ate our dinners on tv trays there. I finally got used to the living room and returned the sitting area to a breakfast nook. That was my fondest memory of that house. Oh, and I forgot to say, your dog stole the show. That is exactly what my cats would do.
Robin I love it! I say if a room isn't being used as first intended, change it to suit your current lifestyle. You have me looking at the large table in my kitchen that we never use. With a smaller round table I have in the garage, I would have room for a sideboard and shelf to decorate! All thrifed of course. I love the chairs and the slipcover you made. Using the tea towel calendar as a wall hanging was a great idea. It turned out so cute. You are a talented woman! Tell us what your family thought of it.💟

I'm a single mom so I completely understand how your girls are busy. Gosh that typewriter table brings me back so many memories. I'm 57 and started my career as an executive secretary. LOVE IT!!! I did the very same thing years ago when our kids were teenagers. They did sit more and talked to me when they normally wouldn't be bothered. Also, I purchased a beautiful old glider that was in amazing shape from a local store. I can't tell you how many memorable conversations I have had on the front porch, while sitting on that thing. I was out on it a lot, and it always welcomed the kids, their friends, mine, aaaaand... my husband when he came home from work. Best thing ever. I love what you created. I bought padded chairs with arms for my kitchen. I threw some faux fur rugs on them, which can go in the washer. I just wanted to make it comfy to encourage my family to linger at the table, and it is my favorite spot to sit in the whole house.

Hi, it looks very cozy and inviting, and puppy approved. Lol. I know this is a trial run, the only thing sticking out is the black file holder. Maybe arranging flowers in it with some long drapey ones to hide it, just until you decide if the set up stays. I love the mismatched chairs, and you did an amazing job on the slip cover. ❤
