Welcome to the Blue Cactus Dairy Goat Ranch! We breed show quality Nigerian Dwarf Goats! We currently have a herd of 22 does and 4 bucks. Our herd is rotationally grazed on our 10 1/2 acre homestead in Arizona. We make cheese and soap from the milk we get and we also raise chickens for eggs and meat and keep a large garden year round!

LOL my Selene did the exact same thing. By the time anyone knew she had babies, there were two doelings standing, nursing and dry. Sneaky does!!!!

Hahahahha Sky wanted to hide her birth like May and Maddie did. She did great!! And she is so attentive to her baby. I guess her daughter and her had plans to have kids on the same day. Hahaha love it!! Congratulations!!

Just so beyond cool to see and know how great a childhood your own ‘kids’ have living and learning and contributing on your dairy farm. Spending their days OUTDOORS vs glued to cell phones or IPADS every waking moment. Running around, breathing fresh air, helping with chores, getting dirty, seeing and learning the wonderment of birthing, the WORK of birthing, the miracle of birthing, and at times, the grief when things go wrong. Just an incredible education for life. And all amidst glorious sunsets. Working beside BOTH parents as you grow your business. They may not appreciate all of this now, and yes they most likely do a ton more chores than many of their peers, but their lives are so much richer because of all these years. They actually go to bed TIRED, a good tired for a day well done. I love the laughter, the goofiness , the play you all exhibit as you go about your day TOGETHER as a working, cohesive family, and one day the ‘kids’ will each look back at the wonder of their childhood and the preparation it gave them for a solid work ethic to achieve whatever they strive for. These are precious years and they are truly fortunate. And you, Crystal, are just incredibly awesome. ‘You got this mama’!

I had a doe that was 5 days over due. I was coming out every 30 minutes to check on her but couldn't stay and just wait because I had 2 babies in the house. I came out once to check on her and nothing was happening. 30 minutes later I found 3! THREE! Dry kids! 😳😂

Girl I don't know how you do it!! With having our first doe kid yesterday and then realizing I have two more to go in the next few weeks.... That's only 3 total this season and I am already exhausted 🤣

We had a weird thing go on. Had Lucy with her last year baby and she looked like she was in labor then stopped . Someone mentioned maybe she was hanging onto them because of not being able to get away from her last year baby . Sure enough I spectated them for a day and she went into labor and had two huge babies . Lol dang goats lol

Crystal knew she was pregnant; Skye had her baby between checks on the herd.
She's checking every expectant doe multiple times during the day; udder, ligaments, change in behavior, etc.
Skye just had a super fast, easy labor, that's all.
i think it is amazing that you can bottle feed all of them.

I thought that Schillie's little blonde (?) buck is really handsome, but Sky's little (almost all) black one is really something. I'm getting real antsy about finding a place to have my own few goats. I'm going to take a drive to look at my newest prospect in a few minutes now that the rain has stopped. My suggestion for his name: "Shade" ("Shadow" is too long) ;-)

She is a special case! She was fat when we bought her years ago! Bounced back the first year but gained it all back and hasn't lost it since. Our goats have LOTS of room to graze and roam around. They arent just stuck in the pens.
I have been following you for a while and I also have Nigerians I have a doe that has slit teets was just wondering if she will have problems kidding
That wouldn't cause problems kidding but could cause problems for her to nurse the kids as well as milking her. Just depends on how bad the split teat is. They can also throw that gene to the kids. It would be a cull in my herd.

Hey! Sky's baby is so pretty! I had a question though, if anyone knows please tell me, when the babies are sold, how long do you need to wait to bring them to a new home? Is it 2 months, cause I thought it was sooner.
It depends if the new owner wants a bottle baby. They can be weaned from milk at 8 weeks old.
My thoughts were also same. Skye really? 1?buck? Crystal in the past I saw a vlog about koda. I couldn't rember his mom.
