Luke goes on about planning etc. When I was on the coaches , I used to plan to the nth degree. You cannot rely on twatnavs. I had a map by my driving seat and a written down route on the dashboard.
Great videos. I'd just like to make a comment having been a truck driver for about 30 years and having done tramping carrying bricks and blocks as well as shipping containers and wood out of baltic wharf etc. I've noticed a phenomenon in nearly every truck driver including myself, 'Where we constantly forget what we've done in the morning let alone yesterday or the day before '. I've listened while truck drivers try to remember their days work as they struggle to recant their day or even their weeks activities. I'm wondering if, with all the constant attention we have to do in the driving and anticipation of hazards and traffic etc, that our memories are adversely affected and whether this would lead to a permanent affliction as in a medical condition. I would definitely warn people who want to do truck driving that it is definitely NOT the healthiest occupation for obvious reasons. But realising that so many drivers seem to forget what they did even just a few hours ago can be quite alarming , for me at least. I'd like to know what other drivers opinions are about this and what your understanding of it is ?
To be honest, I literally couldn’t remember what I was doing earlier when I met someone who I hadn’t seen for awhile. The more I think about it the more I feel it’s gotten worse and longer I’ve done this job. I’m still an amateur I’ve only been driving eight years. yes my memory has definitely gotten worse
@@lukecinahgv At first I thought it was just me having memory blocks but then I noticed other drivers having difficulty too trying to remember what they've done only hours ago. But I really became alarmed when I drove through a small town and became disorientated and couldn't remember how I'd got there or actually driving through the place. My memory in retirement is now terrible. Perhaps it needs someone to investigate, but I think it went back to normal after having a holiday from driving. I used to go yacht sailing in my holidays. I stopped driving HGVs soon after because of it and went small van courier driving, still long distance but I felt safer. The pressure caused by Truck Driving sort of creeps up on you without you realising it and it becomes 'Normal' if you don't watch it. Despite all this, I'm perfectly happy to have done the jobs and experienced the adventures along with the puzzles finding out about proper load restraints and different loads and companies. From roping and sheeting and heavy chains and stretcher dogs to rachet straps, it's been a huge learning experience. Remember, you only live once so enjoy it .

People will be angry with any vehicle with someone sat in it, but strangely, not so angry at empty vehicles. To avoid embarrassment, go stand by the other truck.

It’s a little bit different for me. I make money on these these videos and when I get the truck washed then features in the video which means I can put it down as tax deductible. £35 is nothing this video will make 10 times that at least. That’s before the additional revenue like sponsorships and merchandise sales. Yes, it may come out of my own money, but I’m not missing it and because I can put it down as a taxable outgoing. I took income, an awful lot if that, I’m very quite honest about it I’m on £150 a day driving a truck I get paid £26 a night out I do on average 2 to 3 nights out a week. So let’s say the lower figure of two nights. That’s £802 a week. Times that by 52 weeks of a year and you get £41,704 I also get paid by social media. I won’t go into specifics, but I get paid more on social media than I do drive a truck. Combined it makes very healthy wage. Hopefully this helps mate
Thanks a million, I suppose without the social media you would be in a bit of a bad spot. I mean £41k with all that experience doesn't sound good. I feel like you are worth more and that's not me just trying to make you feel good. Surely there is work out there that pays north of £50k ??? No nights out. It's something I've been looking into but with a young family wife wouldn't allow me to stay out. What sector pays the most in trucking ???
Something interesting to note: Oreo cookies are an American brand cookies and have been popular for several decades DEFINITELY before I was born and I’ve been on this planet for nearly two decades and a half.
Im a Big fan of the channel but you do make me laugh... "im not in a hurry" but youre way too close to other vehicles? especially considering its wet? Wondered if its wide angle lens but counting for 2second rule and youre barely one sec to vehicles in front and in the wet, should be four? Ive Learnt a lot from watching your videos. Cheers
Amazed to see how expensive your fuel is, I worked it out to be £179.9 pence per litre. That's at least 20p more than in Dorset. I take it you filled up on a motorway. What a rip off 😮
I find your losing patience with HGV driving, your trying to hide the fact it doesn’t bother you that you do/don’t have to do a night out, but you can clearly tell it does. I think someone has said this before, but even I find your trying to chase when you’re going home and not doing a night out, followed by a comment “It doesn’t bother me if I do a night out” it clearly does you can tell. Your face says it all.
Except I enjoy doing nights out? I also enjoy going home. So that’s why it doesn’t bother me. I’m happy to do either Sometimes I do want to go home, yes but the vast majority of the time I honestly don’t care
Because I make money making content about the truck. Each video makes 10x what a truck wash costs. So to be honest, it doesn’t effect me Plus it’ll go down as a tax deductible for my TH-cam earnings meaning I pay less tax at the end of the year because I made less profit. (You only pay tax on profit). Either way, I’m loosing some of the money, either the tax man or the wash man.

Wat about ya diet
I lost 3 lb in the last week. Thanks for asking.

No, whilst banging your sister

Ahhh
Something interesting to note: Oreo cookies are an American brand cookies and have been popular for several decades DEFINITELY before I was born and I’ve been on this planet for nearly two decades and a half.
Im a Big fan of the channel but you do make me laugh... "im not in a hurry" but youre way too close to other vehicles? especially considering its wet?
Wondered if its wide angle lens but counting for 2second rule and youre barely one sec to vehicles in front and in the wet, should be four? Ive Learnt a lot from watching your videos. Cheers
I’d say it was the angle.
I’m happy to do either
Sometimes I do want to go home, yes but the vast majority of the time I honestly don’t care
Hgv driver are you? Look below
Looking below. All I see is my penis
@@lukecinahgvfat lads don't see their penises, don't lie.
@@lukecinahgv I haven't seen mine in years
They do if it’s big enough.
Why would you use your own money to wash your truck?
Because I make money making content about the truck. Each video makes 10x what a truck wash costs. So to be honest, it doesn’t effect me
Plus it’ll go down as a tax deductible for my TH-cam earnings meaning I pay less tax at the end of the year because I made less profit. (You only pay tax on profit).
Either way, I’m loosing some of the money, either the tax man or the wash man.
You indicated too early
Better than too late.
If you upset someone that is their problem not yours that's life.
Hi luke enjoyed the video keep trucking and stay safe mate
Thanks, you too!
