The problem with this video is that Critical is going to watch it over and over for years wishing he would have braked later for every corner. Awesome opportunity!
Max Verstappen drove F3 after karting. Max drove his first F3 race on 19 april 2014. Max had a deal to become part of the F1 team of Toro Rosso at 12 august 2014. That's 15 weeks after Max started F3 racing. You're 8 times as fast as Max Verstappen! Wow!
It was such a joy to meet you on that special day... and to see and hear you fly by in that FW33. Supercool video of a supercool day ❤ Merry christmas!
nothing else makes me satisfied except snowboarding, the feeling of getting BIG AIR and being weightless for a couple of seconds is something i'll always be chasing and never get tired of
No, no that strong 😉 You brake much harder in the start of the brake zone or how to say and gradually release it. This was just me failing on the releasing part, trying to trail brake 😅
It is a remarkable experience. I drove the same car in 2022 at Magny Cours for two 4 lap sessions, and again same program in ‘23 at Catalunya. I am now 71 years old and have raced sports cars and a prototype with lots of Hp and downforce. An F1 car is a whole nother realm. Congrats on a successful experience. When are you going back?
Tuesen takk for sharing this run. I falled in love to F1 and Karting since 1998. I totally felt myself in your shooes. You prepared well, and you did a good job with this amount of experiance. Im quite confident in driveing, but I say I would not do better job on those laps in these situations, when you feel exitement, and a bit fear in the same time. Nice job man, I really enjoyed the video. 🙂
This was so fun to watch. I felt your tears at the end there. What a spectacular feeling that must have been. Genuinely happy for you!!! Thank you for sharing with us all.
thats really impresive, only 2 weeks experience and u can already DO 5'GS while a turn, and really impresive that u can push the pedals down like its nothing, THATS LIKE PUSHING A DAMN baby elephant! love ur vids keep up the work
You did a fantastic job. Apparently keeping the brakes hot and the tyres. Even Valentino Rossi, when he drove a Ferrari struggled to do that. In fact the Engineers wanted to call him In, because he wasn’t driving fast enough. I had a Day at Brands Hatch, many years ago, courtesy of BMW. Drove a Lotus Sunbeam which I enjoyed, and then a formula Ford with a straight cut gearbox. I hated it. I was totally out of my depth. A lot of other guys said the same that they couldn’t adapt . I could never have been even a clubman racer. All credit to you. Great one.
Buying a whole sim racing setup as preparation and then spending 17 minutes using it is a certified ADD classic. 😂 Hope you’ll use it a couple more times and it doesn’t just collect dust
Hhahah 100%. I had it for a while but it came in handy for the prep. I just sold it, I got to much motion sickness from it, it wasn't fun at all tbh. I do have ADD tho 😂
You can drive it at Barcelona and Magny Cours, in the past it was also on Portimao or Paul Richard but I can't find those now. For Magny Cours 3 laps cost you just under 6K, you can go up to 10 laps wich will cost you 14,4K. Barcelona with 3 laps starts at 7.7K and 10 laps cost you 17.7K. In that price it includes the Formula Renault sesions, all the debriefs, a lunch and I assume all the renting of the suits helmets and all other equipment. Ooow yeah, bringing a person with you who is just there to watch it costs you €60 per person and you can bring up to 5 people with you wich will then cost €300 The insurance will cost you €590 but is not mandatory, personal decision how much risk you wanna take with that.
Great experience! I have driven the same car 2 times. You can’t imagine that you are capeble to drive such a powerful race car as an amateur! Well done!👍🏻💪🏻
What a great Christmas present! Banger video, I cried with you. Unreal opportunity thank you for this chance to experience it. I would say you performed pretty well for the 15 mins of iracing practice. @@critical incredible. And terrifying 😂. I had a lock-up into the tight hairpin at the end of the straight, turned in the run-off are and avoided the gravel by about 6 inches. Incredible experience though. Especially driving along the pit straight as everyone stands there filming as you fly passed.
Id be happy enough to sit in one when they start it up behind me. That and opening it up on a straight is probably the only part a noob can enjoy without fear of destroying it. Ive drove a forumla renault 3.5 which had a V8 like this period of f1 but less downforce(not that i went fast enough to use it) That was 30 minutes of me gradually opening the throttle to about 85% and braking silly early and rolling around corners on mechanical grip. I wish i had driven more advanced stuff before so i could remember it for more than fear and my head falling off. Porche cup car was a million times more enjoyable for a lay person like me then...

Man I loved watching you get more confident. You went from getting passed to passing them and then passing the next driver!
With maybe a little illegal cone splitting 😉
😂 cone splitting! Yeah i was getting warmed up, and the brakes as well 😇
There is no better feeling than trying something new and you are careful at the start, but then you get comfortable and can purely enjoy!😁
