Unfortunately, I saw it too. Didn’t want to believe it but after game 5 I stopped watching but was still hoping that some changes would be made. It never happened. Favoritism with Shedeur, Shilo, Travis and Dillon.🤷🏽♀️

Can we address the elephant in the room? Their OL quit on them after game 2; they began to show their displeasure as a group during that Colorado St. game. Their QB pulls up in a Rolls Royce with NIL deals north 5 mil. The OL aren’t getting a dime, therefore not incentivized to block for him, watch the game tape wayyyy too many plays NO effort at all was given. Everybody needs to eat, more than enough to go around.

He wasn’t used because it was all about Shedeur getting the Heisman,so no running game.

I do not blame Smoke for speaking honestly about the situation about the play calling week to week. Good for him speaking up. The running game was non-existent all season. When you are one dimensional in play calling, when the O-Line is not strong against the pass rush, defense will pin their ears back and attack. Smoke (SEC), Wilkerson, McCaskill should have been utilized heavily which would have limited Shadeur being exposed to unnecessary hits/sacks , to the point it shot them in the foot against Washington on Friday. Yes they need an O-line but every college team that is dominant this season has a running game to supplement the passing game. Waste of talent this season. Colorado will have to balanced (run and pass) next year Lord's willing in order to be successful.

Please people, STOP lying about the number of players still there, from last year's team. 32 players from last year's 86 players, still remain at CU. So, 54 players who lacked the courage to stay and fight for a position.
As a former running back myself, I can attest that if a team abandons the run game, you leave your quarterback vulnerable. It's a well known fact, you can control the game with a good running game. Opens the options for the eventual passing game. Look at all the teams that beat them. Everyone had over 120 rushing to open up the passing lanes for their receivers. Thing is, can't run the ball if the o-line is getting pushed into the backfield every play bythe front 7. The o-line has get bigger and stronger

When you don’t have a running game, your team becomes one dimensional. Colorado was that type of team most of the year. A running game and staunch defense wins championships. Coach Prime’s success at JSU was his balanced attack on offense. You reap what you sow.

After the 4th game the other teams new Shedeur was going to throw the ball and CU had no running game, so they started rushing him. @@donnabass5052 The first few games the other teams really had no film on them to study. after 3 or 4 games they had enough to adjust and scheme accordingly. Sadly, Deion and Sean did not make any cahnges whatsoever. In fact, they doubled down and became even more predictable and pass heavy,thus becoming very easy to beat. Total coaching failure from top to bottom. Maybe Sean Lewis was listening to Deion and not free enough to his thing.Rumor has it Deion wanted to showcase Shaduer in an effort for him to be in the hesiman conversation. I'm not sure but it sure as hell looked like it...
Deion definitely knew about Lweis. Lewis was the head coach of Kent State from 2018-2022 when Coach Prime and Colorado came calling. The Buffs were willing to buy out Lewis from his head coaching contract for $750,000 to lead the offense in Boulder. Kent State was one of the most dynamic and explosive offenses in the country. in 2021, Kent State ranked 5th in the country in yards per game (494.6), 10th in plays per game (75.1) and 30th in points per game (33.0). Sean Lewis knows offense and is proven. Power run game is the backbone of the offense at Kent State. It looks there may have a been a difference in Philosphy between the two and Prime being a narcissist won out. I think Sean Lewis is being unfairly critized...Thats my humble opinion...

Coach Prime doesn't know how to utilize his talent. He was that way at JSU. Plus he seems to be inept in player development, it's disappointing to see the lack of coaching on this staff. No top O line or D line recruites will go to Colorado because it's plain to see that they can't develop players. This team is built for social media not big time college football.

As a former three sport athlete, coaches and assistant coaches for any team at any level evaluates what they're observing from their players along with your opponents...adjustments are critical when your plan is not working...if you're not making adjustments your opponents stick to what is working

You have to understand that prime didn't want a run game because he didn't want any percentage of the spot light to be taken away from Sheduer, it was all about the Heisman chase. Prime was padding Sheduer stats and every coach in the league knew it. Colorado losses was at the hand of prime, and yes they could have won a bunch of those games but prime didn't want to change things up because he was stuck with the Heisman chase for Sheduer. Colorado was a two year plan for prime and then he's gone because it's his plan. The plan wasn't to win every game, the plan was to highlight his sons especially Sheduer for the Heisman and pro. Sheduer with not play for Colorado next year no matter what Deion said, he was just talking and will change his mind in a heartbeat. His sons will be playing pro next year.

Lewis?! Prime wanted that. After backup QB came in, all of a sudden they were running the ball. When Shedeur came back in momentarily... went right back to the run. Head Coach Agenda exposed.
Coach Prime should have known what Sean Lewis offensive scheme was before hiring him. This doesn’t sit well with me. It makes it hard not to believe that this wasn’t to help Shedeur stats. So many talented RB’s and WR’s on this team for them not to play. I wish all those players that transferred to CU in hopes of playing the best in their future endeavors. Coach Prime disabled the Buffs this season by trying to bolster his son Shedeur's QB stats. Ignoring the running game was a big big error. Moreover, if Shedeur decides to return next season, what self-respecting qualified QB is willing to sit on the bench all season... iow, good luck recruiting a good backup QB... afterall, we have seen what happened against Wash State when the coach's QB son couldn't return to the lineup after a serious injury. This indicates poor coaching and poor play design... js!

At times it seems prime is trying to pad Shedeur stats because it seems like every play they throwing the ball and the few times they do run the ball they don’t commit to it. Sheduer acts like he’ll rather take a sack then throw the ball away. Now the line isn’t great but I believe Prime been setting these guys up to fail and then demoting Lewis was a mistake and the offense has been worse since that decision. Honestly I think Prime will be out in CU within three seasons. Next year it’s going to be tough too in the big 12 because everyone is going to get up and try to they best to beat CU because of the attention the team gets regardless if CU is trash or not. Prime gotta hit recruiting hard and start developing up this team this off season. There’s definitely favoritism in that running back and receiver group

Agree with what you've called out. I see CU as having a variety of issues. The amount of 'behind the scenes' coverage has exposed validated the favoritism expressed in conjunction with the play calling and load management of the various positions. I see the celebrity hype train that Deon has brought with him as being unhealthy for any program, in addition to the 'bling'/ materialism flaunted. The culture being created there is abnormal for any institution. In this age of NIL and social media I see those things adding an unseen green monster to all programs especially if any player can attribute extra personal attention/visibility/money to a sub group in the locker room.

Definitely need a running game to open up the passing game! In certain aspects you could say it's a conflict of interest at that level for his sons to play for him. He's going to naturally unknowingly or knowingly give shauder a better look but as we see it's not working you got to run the rock!

Indeed. this should be a lesson to a lot of athletes wanting to jump in the transfer portal. Many times it's better to stay where you are and work through the adversity. I'm all for SOME player movement but the portal and the way its being run is going to screw up college sports in general and college football specifically.

Deion tried to play this off like he is just stating the obvious.. He is saying WE ONLY FOCUSED ON SHEDUR AND HUNTER because the coach wanted to highlight his SON. This is an indictment of DEION.. Coach Lewis wanted to get more running going and he got demoted because Deion wanted to focus on SHEDEUR... The kid is right, he believed in Deion and Deion ruined his senior season.. I feel so horrible for this kid. Deion WASTED his last shot to showcase for the NFL.. I hope this makes the kid work harder at the combine and hopefully at least gets an UDFA shot in the NFL. Heartbreaking for the kid.
One more thing. Maybe the most undisciplined team in CFB.
Smoke has some good points. Wilkerson, Hankerson and Smoke should have been featured as the RBs. Dylan Edward's is a fast kid but not a good back at all. He's not big enough to block or carry the ball between the tackles. He should be a receiver or punt returner. CU could probably use a couple of better coaches. I guess we will see.
They want to talk about the O Line...hell they need a Defense as well.
TBh in sports not everyone will get the shine. As an individual you just gotta work hard, stay humble, and be a team player for the betterment of the team. Is it fair probably Not but you just gotta be ready when your time comes. There professionals across all sports might not be getting the playing time they want but instead of complaining you gotta prepare for your moment if it comes. I do think the play calling need to be more balanced.
When the coach won't play the best players , those players need to speak up

Y’all tripping about this kid. He was not all that. He was below average running back. He transferred from an average program where he didn’t even start.
It makes a lot of sense to me now. The running scheme and run blocking scheme were just nonexistent and just plain ole terrible. I fill this young man should have been given a good portion of the carries this year. I hope the young man stays committed to playing on the next level and balls out when his number is called. It's just terrible, and that is on our coach Prime. So, let's get this fixed for the new year.
