Motörhead had a reputation as being loud, fast three chord rock, but that belies their talents
Philthy Animal Taylor mixes the classic ‘boom smack boom-boom smack’ heavy groove with a d-beat so the song seems to both rush forward and pull back
It stops the song being monotonous and Phil always had swing in his playing, even at his fastest tempos

Definitely heard that when transcribing and it makes it so much harder than just playing what's written. Love it. Something that's lost in the quantisation world today!
