Most versatile bowed instrument. 😉 Piano and guitar are also stringed instruments and extremely versatile. I think those three make the trifecta of versatile instruments.
I'm a cellist :) and my friends and I are going to play this at a concert, all on cello. This was inspirational and I hope we do almost as good as you !
I must confess, that I keep coming back here to see Maddie playing one of my favourite songs on her cello. Especially at 3:05. She's looking so passionate playing her cello and I can see that she loves it. Maddie has stolen my heart.
when im going to middle school they have band and im gonna play cello i already have proof why this video and also i could get a scholarship in high but i got 3 more years until that or maybe more years
Man, I don't play the cello. But if I could, I wouldn't be able to NOT smile while playing! It's such a beautiful instrument, I would be honored to play one someday! :)
Guys, your job is awesome,I can feel love in every note,I can feel the rythim, and I can´t think about how good is our God in musics like that.I know everithing in the world is energy, and the most powerful energy is LOVE.
I'm deciding whether I should learn the cello. The only instrument I know how to play is guitar. I don't the least bit about cello (nor how to find out) but things as beautiful as this makes me want to learn it so I can play it as well. I am not the biggest fan of classical music but I do like a few pieces (that I would also like to learn). I am aware that playing the cello is expensive but my parent encourage me to learn instruments if I think i would enjoy it. It makes me nervous to learn the cello because once again it isn't cheap and is a fairly hard instrument as well as I don't know anything about cello or classical music. So might I ask your opinion, Should I learn the cello? And if so is there anything I should know? I'm 12 years old by the way. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! I've literally never done this before (and just a Canon Rebel T1) haha so I have a lot to learn! :) Thanks for supporting String Theory!
i've played cello for a long, long time, and it was horrible, my mother and I allways argued, it was disgusting to me. but, then my teacher said (the same since ever, ok, for ten years) that i'm good enough to play at an orchestra, and then I started practising everyt day for two times, and I'd became better and better. And when I started to play this song, it was one of the first few songs, wich showed me, how beautiful this instrument can be. idk, why i'm telling you this, but maybe, to show you, that you can suceed in everything, if you work hard for it. sorry for my very, very bad english.
Minerva Hilbert: Your English is very good and you have made a very good point about practice and the beauty of the Cello. I had never realized the tremendous range of a Cello until I had seen and heard ""Sad Lisa - John Gawkowski" here on YT. Then I found one of my favorite pieces from a film "Andre Previn Conducts The Blue Max by Jerry Goldsmith" I had no idea that it was in large part, the Cello giving rise to that underlying base that builds high emotional tension levels. Those of us non-musicians would give anything to be a part of an ensemble or orchestra and be able to take part in creating the overwhelming majesty, the power and energy that moves the heart. Music cuts across all boundaries all cultures and languages. As proof watch ""Nightingale-Yanni"" performed in Beijing China (there is a Cello part). You might like "Yanni-Nostalgia-Live At Royal Albert Hall, or "2 Cellos-Hurt Official Video"

Jori Parson I recommend you get your cello and learn to play it. I am an adult cello beginner starting at age 26 (now I am 29). As a pianist in pursuit of my diploma, I was suggested to learn another instrument as my minor, and I chose the cello because I have been admiring it since age 15, but could neither afford the instrument nor the lesson at that time. Now that I have achieved my piano teaching certificate and hold a proper job as teacher and musician, I decided to take the chance. It was hard at the beginning, but I kept the thought that I got to endure the difficulties to make myself a solid cellist. As a result, after 2 years of learning process, I was asked to join the student orchestra of a violin friend's, and this is the second year joining the orchestra. Several times performing in a quartet or in ensemble of more instruments, I am preparing myself now to go as a soloist in a recital, performing my pre-examination pieces. All in all, if you really fall in love with the cello, don't just admire someone else but be yourself and try it. It is worth the challenge and you will not regret it :)
thank you!!! i play the cello and i wanted to play this so badly and i didn't know if cellos could so thank you so much this is the first vid ive ever seen by you and i suscribed before the video started THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
