Good video, and loved the music. Husband a BOI, we lived there for 10 years till we bought a house on the Mainland. While I would never wish to live there again(for various reasons)I still enjoy visiting there. Lots of neat places to shop and eat, and many entertainment events during the year. Seaweed is a seasonal thing, and if left in place, it serves as a natural sand retainer. So, do you get rid of it to please the tourists, or leave it to save the beaches? I stayed at the Hotel Galvez, and it was awesome! And every town and city has its poorer and richer sides of town, Galveston is no different. Galveston is a great tourist community. I would recommend it to everyone.
I love living in Galveston. Much prefer living here than visiting. To each his own. So much history, culture, incredible food, and southern homes. I'll never leave.
We were there on last vacations and just entry on road main the donuts and coffe nice, very good. The ocean warm is great and the ferry to the bolivar.
Good video It was put together well.watching this video had me missing the hell outta Galveston.I lived here for a few years and I have some good memories of it.u got a lot of footage but I see u didn't want to go west from 25th street but also y'all think u saw ghetto on this video? Most of the areas he drove through are considered nice or decent areas trust me galvestons real real bad neighborhood is north of Broadway all that over there from 25th to 53rd is creepy as hell.I'm going to visit g town soon I love it.thanks for posting the video.
Think smaller New Orleans. Beautiful southern architecture, wonderful old city. Beautiful areas, and lots of bad spots. Just know where you're going to live and think NOLA greatness and NOLA issues - you'll love it.
I am Born On Island and yes Galveston is historic and has had it's share of disasters but she alwas comes back, alwas reinvents herself like the Class Act she is.
Plus, viewing this place from the air, it looks like Manhattan, without all of the talk buildings Plus, San Francisco has the biggest park in the US, the fog is beautiful in certain areas, viewing San Fran from Alcatraz is just beautiful
Galveston always looks so drab and depressing. I used to go to a psychologist who was on Mechanic St, then went to another on Church St. in those old houses.
I know what you mean, it probably wouldn't be for me either to be honest, it's interesting to look at from the safety of TH-cam and Galveston certainly has got a fascinating history, I believe the legendary boxer Jack Johnson was born there way back in 1878 and there are other legends that were born there too, so there's that but I'd rather be where I am, even though it's poor where I live too Lol, I guess it's better the devil you know, it just depends on each individual really, some people might love Galveston, it's a personal choice that people have to make, at the end of the day you go by how you feel, if you go to a place and you don't feel right, it probably isn't right for you, if it feels right for you then it probably is right for you, it's as simple as that really.
Ha.. just to let you guys know Im from gtown.. it's ghetto as Hell.. but nice some times.. and the whole damn island is haunted bcuz of the 1900 storm + don't go to the hotel galvez most haunted place in the island.. but I love Galveston

I used to go to a support group on Church St. at night. then you'd have to park down the street (because of no parking spots) and walk. Scary.
kenny young trust me you not missing nothing down there I been in g town all my life im still in G county but not Galveston
I'm seriously thinking of moving to Galveston & buying a home there! this was awesome

Great intro wow and everyone bashing my island should research the history
Just because it has history doesn't hide the fact that it looks depressing
San Francisco has lots of history, and it doesn't look depressing at all
You don't know what it looks like. Beautiful place. San Fransisco is disgusting, and the history is not similar.
Looks quite depressing to me
Plus, viewing this place from the air, it looks like Manhattan, without all of the talk buildings

Nice tour! I felt like I was about to die at every stop sign though! Jesus!
I went here 3 times to different hotels 1. Days Inn 2. Super 8 3. Holiday Inn Express & Suites worst DI best HIEAS
YOU PASSED BY SOME HOTELS I'VE GONE TO
I went to the burn center
What kind of car you got?
July 8, 2013, media reports parking meters being installed on the seawall, will cost you a dollar an hour to park. They keep trying to kill tourism
The issue I have is how you have to pay. If you just had to drop change in the meter that is okay.
Lol @ ColtraneAndRain. Me too! And I was in the car with him! Haha
i went on july24 2013 i recommend it it is beautiful and so fun
Could you have made it look anymore depressing???
I saw my house!!!!
i live here
