Sadly that sort of advice would never apply nor work with the doctors within Canada
as they are not so easy to find to begin with here and being the case matter as there is such a shortage of doctors
and in fact all the doctors who as simply having know this for one which the point is why they take prime advantage over us paitents and our need of time for them to greater listen to out actual health related problems we try to present them with !!
Dotors minsets here in Canada are conditioned by such high egos they seek nothing but the money to be had
as why they are always so damn quick as to shuffle us in and out the damn doors so fast
however less the patient is of a higher class as then they offer up whats is known as preferencial teatment of course and provide such all the more time to mind their health matters
this is common place and its a damn obvious disheartening disgrace all setup as its been overtime based upon how selfish they truly are far to damn many rich people simply kissing each one anothers azzes nowadays and its all about money as so happens as to be what in fact of the entire matter become the driving force that has overtime become of their postions held to be as careless minded as they could careless anymore of our health
so long as they get payed the big bucks !!
And its based simply as by seeing as many patients through the door on any given day of course as we got Canadian health care coverage which means they are comfortably seated in position of power as to control the time and be its the money by which they can calculate and by all means count upon recieving at the end of each and every weeks big paydays
So of course its all gotten to become so corrupt these days and as far from the old days when their money concerns were placed second inline of a doctors compassion towords the patients !!
as same goes on within most bussinesses and all such government public services their all so selfish minded narssisist and who seek to do far less and some how get paid all the more money and far more so then the time of day they care as to mind afford to most people specially if they no what our finnacial statis is
As point on point being the poorest among all who are so ill recieved by the upper classes of the weathly peopl;e such as the doctors who look down upon us like we are to their kinds just a meaningless waist of their own damn precious time !!!
As they who are so selfish held to their worth far above moral human values within themselvers as well as towords all others less of corse they meet their own own level of worth as they among the rich sreve the rich and the poor are left aside as being neglected and overtime decade after decade its shown the overall decline in their hearts its a serious sickness that the richest above all others who never being willing to diagnose about themselves as being so conditioned and dishonesty driven by their own selfish monies worth !!
and yet some how on earth they suggestivly mind us poorer class as if we are not of the equal or ever far greater the level of intelligance to actually notice it so directly in them and if we were ever to raise this directly to them they most certainly would all quickly dismiss it and turn to their egos to sheild themselves from the very actual point of the truths by which they so fear to face up to about the problem within themselves !!
and they as well they always provide the time to support one another simply through their own group think tanks mentalities for to ease their conscienses
of course this is the point of such simple mindless fools who could careless and basically turn a blind eye while looking the other thoughtless way from the truth
And its all so obvious what the hell their mental problem is based upon what been systematicly setup as by design
and thats the bottom line be it their all out to get rich while not willing to provide the time of day to actually mind helping the poorest people with their personal health matters of whats concerning among the poorest people as who simply get ignored
and if say one among the poor should happen to be so lucky to win a lottery LOL as some of you would be suprized just how differently you would be recieved by them among the ego tripping rich upper classes as but however this would never even personally ever surprize me in the very least !!!
if fact you would most likly be invited out to say play a round of golf or to having a fine exspensive dinner as by the very likes of such doctors and such all those among all the rich upper classes who as I would personally literally simply tell them all to go f themselves !!!!!! TRUTH FROM CANADA !!!!

I went to my second appointment a neurologist to what I thought would be to overgrow the MRIs and and geographies of my brain which I saw because the x-ray technician sent them to me a link to look at the pictures.
The neurologist acknowledged that I had had tias but he wanted to do another MRI of my lumbar cuz I told him that my lower back always acts up when I have shingles which I have internal shingles all the time.
Discussing the migraine auras with him I have severe ocular auras after The strokes.
He told his assistant to prescribe this pill I don't never heard of it and he walked out of the room.
His assistant came back in and about the pill and I said I'm not taking any more pills. I left when I got home I called and said cancel my appointment I will no longer be coming to see him.
March 2020 and April 2020 I had two strokes back-to-back Tia's maybe but I suffered for 3 years and a half but I did all natural realize my own therapy that I have to learn how to do things a lot slower blah blah blah.
I've seen my primary next week and we'll see what she has to say because I am in line to receive a mobilized wheelchair.
No more specialist for me even the cardiologist was the same way.
It's been less than a minute maybe a minute and a half and they're gone.

Once when my husband was in the ER with a never ending infection during his cancer battle his doctor, Dr. YORK! was so busy, very obviously lusting over the cute, very fit nurse he couldn't even concentrate on my husband or what we were asking. My husband was too ill to notice. I was so taken aback because that's how obvious it was I was stunned into silence. I had no clue how to dress him and his very bad disgusting behavior. Now 7 yrs later, my husband long deceased it still bothers me. What bothers me the most is how I did nothing. I'll never forget Dr. York of all the 84 doctors my husband saw. But out of the 84 I will say I can easily and only count on my hands how many were decent, kind and treated us both with respect. Less than 10 out of 84...I no longer have much respect for doctors anymore and I certainly don't trust them.

Similar situation here. We (patients & care givers) are not trained to be advocates for ourselves or our loved ones. We need to learn how to get the best response/treatment from our doctors/nurses. When the doctors fail we often beat ourselves up thinking we could have done more, even though we are not trained medical professionals.

If I have any health issues I go to the doctor to get an idea of what might be going on and the possible treatments. Before actually doing anything I exhaustively research the medical literature until I know more about the issue than the doctor. Then I go back to the doctor and tell them what treatment I want. If I had followed this approach a few years back I would not have agreed to a procedure that has left me impotent and incontinent. The so-called "specialist" I was seeing back then didn't know a well tested & proven alternative treatment had been developed that had no side effects. I've had it with doctors, most are a menace to their patients, they are not to be trusted. When it comes to medical services you have to be an educated consumer.

Practical and helpful .. thank you. My GP recently dropped my husband and I off his list because we didn't see him for 1-1/2 years. I just found an old-time British-trained doctor in his 70's who works 1 day weekly in a walk-in clinic. Rather than refer me to a dermatologist for a mole check and removal, as was the case with my former GP, he simply did it all in his office. If there were more old-fashioned, skilled doctors, our health services would not be in the mess they are in at the moment. I remember when the school nurse would "put a stitch in it" if you injured yourself .. followed by letting you sleep it off on her sofa. With all the new imaging and testing we should be enjoying the best healthcare ever. Things really went wrong.

On top we have to do a lot of digital work in this small timespan.
We don't get time to do all this writing between therapys, but we have to do it IN therapie, what means even less time for therapy.

I have actually used this tactic in the past, and it indeed works. In one case, the Dr stopped & listened, & in another I asked the Dr if they had someone to recommend if their schedule was too hectic or my problem was out of their area - and they did. It turned out to be a better situation. I was very fortunate with my most recent Dr as she always took the time to listen & thought outside of the box, but the facility she worked for made her put a limit on time she could spend with patients & she ultimately left b/c she couldn't properly give patients the time they needed or deserved. I asked if she was going independent, she chose her words carefully, so I'm being watchful about when she does. We all deserve Dr's who truly care about our health.

Unfortunately social media has made this dynamic pretty prevalent, no tolerance for debate or looking at another point of view. People don't want to hear me say the jab killed my friend. They don't want to hear about the 5 or 6 papers that I have detailing the danger. They don't want to hear that if they want to be well the need to change their life style there is no pill to save them from themselves. I have tried and it is not worth the cost to me putting myself out there. best of luck to you though.

I find sometimes doctors to be quite arrogant and again the golden rule seems to work better than most other approaches. People need to challenge their doctors. They aren’t always right. I recently moved cities and went to a new GP for my annual blood work. My cholesterol has always been a bit high (hereditary) and the doctor immediately wanted to prescribe statins. I asked to look at my test (fully lipid density) and pointed out that my triglycerides were low, my LDL was of the light fluffy variety. I have no family history of heart disease or hypertension and strokes. My BMI is 21. Blood pressure 128/78. I run 8kms most mornings and gym 4 times a week. Okay, I’m 64, but what risk was she trying to mitigate? I asked to be referred for a CAC scan (out of an abundance of caution). Predictably, it came back with a zero score. She agreed we didn’t need to talk about my cholesterol again. But my point is, how many other people would have taken her statin prescription advice? Challenge your doctor. Get second opinions.

It has been my experience that doctors do not like to be challenged, even in a mild way. I told one doctor that I thought I had (whatever it was) and he said, "Oh, so your the doctor now?" The doctor I have now tells me that they didn't order what I said they ordered me to take. It should have been in her notes. She told me to get D3 in 50,000 iu. and take it once a week. I went to the drug store, got it, and take it once a week. When I saw her for my yearly, she brought up the D3 level in my blood, and asked me how much I was taking, and I told her. She waved her hand at me and said, "They don't even make it in that dose. I couldn't have said that." I just wish I had brough my bottle with me, but I thought all this was in her records. The healthcare field scares me, even though I worked in it as a social worker for over 30 years. Doctors are human, even if they are very smart and know a lot of things. They make mistakes, and I have had my unfortunate share of their major mistakes and it almost killed me more than once. I've seen patients who also have suffered terribly from doctor's mistakes.
I believe that we need to communicate clearly with the doctor, and that if we are not trusting him/her, we should find another doctor if we can. Negative emotions about your doctor is not good for your health.

They probably started you on a course of D2 50,000 IU and meant to ask you to take some daily dose of OTC D3 thereafter upon completion, yet failed to responsibly document it in their notes or follow up, then acted like a pedantic smarta$% pretending there is no form of prescribable vitamin D at a strength of 50,000 IU! So to recap, your doctor prescribed D2 of that strength then later feigned amnesia and ignorance. As a sidenote, I've never heard a mainstream MD suggest taking anything beyond 4,000 IU of D3.

I have learned never to tell a doctor what you think is wrong with you. Just tell them your symptoms and it is their job to figure out what is wrong. If you are concerned about something very serious, you could say you were worried you might have "xyz" disease. I am a nurse and for years walked into doctor offices telling them what was wrong with me, and then they didn't bother checking me out. My diagnosis was blindly accepted and guess what? Sometimes I was wrong (but not often).

I went to my GP surgery for a routine blood test . The 7th time she inserted the needle I felt a sharp pain up my arm. That evening the area began to swell. The following day I had bruising, pain & swelling . I called the surgery & was told , that's normal , put an ice pack on. 3 weeks later the swelling was still there & the pain was so bad I could only sleep on one side with my arm raised. I then called the Dr & asked to see the Dr , my appointment was with a health care assistant who said that's normal. I left the surgery & wrote a complaint to the practice manager. I was called the next day & an appointment was made for the afternoon. My Dr has now referred me for a scan .

Whenever a patient tells me about their lack of help at their PCP office I tell them to find another doctor...yes it takes time and also you need to remind them that you chose them for help. I work with doctors that don't listen and just do what is standard practice...makes me crazy and I will say something. Thanks Dr Dhand for having this video.

When I detect that a member of the medical collective is ignoring my concerns, I immediately call it out with them. I verbally inform that I feel that my medical issues aren't being addressed, which means that my medical insurance can be better spent elsewhere. I have already done this with 2 different ones, and immediately found a medical collective member who takes their job seriously. Competition does exist within this particular market, they just don't want you to think it does.

I wish I could find a real doctor like you. Now in my late 60’s I have given up on finding one. They all want to send me to this or that specialist when I am there for a common infection and they do not look at me at all. Glued to their laptops and definitely don’t listen. I am now terrified to even go because hospitals kill and thats their next step. God is the Divine Healer and I am so thankful he is because the doctors here seem to be puppets to the insurance companies and not devoted to their oath. Its so sad. There are none like you where I live.

You just described the family doctor of my mother. I have been analysing her situation and do not blame the doctor for everything. My mother is 95 years old with multiple conditions, ears, eyes, mouth, lungs, ect., similar to the condition of the people living in her senior residence. I told her that she and they need a geriatric doctor who can look and treat multiple severe conditions at the same time or at least try. She require enormous amount of care that our society is unable to do, due to economic factors, lack of technology, lack of extensive training, expertise, etc. The health care system need a restructuring that will take many years and very serious work and commitment to achieve a certain level of success.

I have an elderly family member who was a nurse back in the day when as she puts it "Stat meant STAT", and she has several doctors she visits regularly...she has one specialist who pays attention and is very considerate, and another who is invariably brusk and often completely ignores the patient or any questions the patient asks. Same patient, different doctors with very different attitudes 🤔

I would love to be able to say this to the doctor, if we could ever get a face to face appointment here in Greater London. It's still telephone callbacks only. We wait four weeks for a follow-up telephone appointment after a blood test as well. All by design of course - so we say the NHS is not fit for purpose - pushing it towards an American style system.

I agree with you thoughts and attitudes on the current medical establishment but want to point out that patients often wait weeks or months just to see a doctor (that is covered by their health insurance) so I think that plays a role in what the patient is willing to tolerate with regards to the doctors demeanor and many people are so medically naive that they assume all doctors (whether friendly or not) know everything that's best for them.

The very first time in my life that I had to _physically go_ to see a doctor _while having a fever_ was, you guessed it, in the US. I was in my early 20s at the time. Before that, I'd be _in bed_ and the doctor would come to _me_ at home. Yes, with a little bag 🙂I have no idea why this cannot work in America, supposedly the richest country on the planet.

      Not time efficient for them.
What's worse is when kids are out of school 3 days they need a doctor note when if a kid is sick it is good, imo, to keep them out a week and not expose them to a doctor. Lots of parents send the kid in on the third day and just have them go to the nurse and then go pick them up, bring them home and put them back in bed to avoid and expense doctor trip and a long wait in the waiting room.

I wish I knew this before, I went to my go for several months complaining of pain in my side and back, and she would feel and even push a little but when she didn’t get a pain response she just said I was fine. I was telling her how tired I was all the time and she just in my mind didn’t believe me. I in April I finally went to the ER as it as not getting any better. At the ER I was admitted for observation, after X rays And some blood tests. Then spent 9 days in hospital, it turned out I had non Hodgkin’s lymphoma DCBL stage 4 I started chemo in hospital, needless to say fired my GP, had great doctors at oncology had 6 rounds of chemotherapy R CHOP and now am in complete Remission. So always seek a second opinion if you’re doctor is dismissive of your pain.
