Show me more! Never heard any music by Zarebski. Really liked tr; especially, the Scherzo, and the strong final movement ending!

Zarębski is one of the most underappreciated XIX century composer and his music is too beautiful for that :) This is my favourite alongside with Les Roses et Les Épines

I first heard this piece on radio four Polish season years ago, I've loved it to bits ever since, I can whistle it all the way through! It is high on my desert island discs list.It is such a complete fluent piece of music...

Andrew Small I first heard this work on an old Muza LP back in the 1970s (with Wladyslaw Szpilman, no less!), and I came to admire it very soon after making its acquaintance. Because Zarebski is such an obscure figure, and not one of the universally acknowledged "greats,' I hesitated to pronounce it a masterpiece - even though that is what I felt about it in my heart. It's been almost 40 years since I first heard the Zarebski quintet, and its greatness has not diminished in my estimation.

The finale should actually be Presto - Allegretto, since the opening Presto is a reminiscence of the previous movement, while the main body of the finale is tempo Allegretto.
