It's awful how so many victims of abuse become abusers or murderers. In a way, the people who did these things to these people should also be held responsible for their crimes. But at the same time, we all have a choice. Life is what you make it. You can choose to give in to the dark or you can follow the light. It's really a shame about the wrong address thing. Maybe this could have been prevented. I feel so bad for all these victims, their families but also for Jim's family. I can't imagine what it was like to be his kids... that had to be awful...not a place I'd ever want to be. Also, it's a shame that he didn't get help the day before when he called for help. He tried to get himself some help, this is just sad.

I remember when this happened. I grew up in San Diego, and was 17 at the time, and the San Diego Trolley had just opened. My family rode the trolley down to San Ysido To go touring and shopping across the border. When we pulled into the station there we could see the McDonald's from the trolley, and there were tons of cop cars there with their lights flashing. When we went to the border gates, we were all told to return to the trolley and go back. It wasn't until that evening on the news when we heard what happened, and that it was just minutes before we had arrived.

You see things on the news but never think it'll personally affect you. Like we become complacent. We hear horrific news every newscast dont usually give it a second thought. Some of us might pray for the victims families but soon forgotten. Until it hits close to home. I was so stunned and in disbelief for several months. To this day its fresh in my mind-- but like a really horrible blood curdling nightmare.

He was very crude in his description and claimed that he had to stay behind the vehicle for cover. I will never forget the news coverage on this event.

He did try to call and get himself some help just the day before or whenever it was, this could have been prevented if he had been taken seriously and gotten some help. There was a series of events that led to this happening and it could have been stopped so many times along the way if someone had just helped this guy. I believe life is about the choices we make, and he had a choice as to what to do with that abuse and anger and pain, and he chose wrong, but sounds like by this point, he was a very sick man and it was too late. It just sucks that he could have been helped so many times before this and even asked for help, yet none ever came. He was failed also and that's not right either. In some ways, he was also still a victim. He asked for help and was ignored. Sad....

I'm sorry having a rough childhood does not give you the rights choose to kill other people. Both my brother and I had horrible childhoods he died from his injuries that's how bad it was. He stopped me from the planning of killing our adoptive parents because I was trying to stop her from the abuse that she was doing to both of us. I guess I would have probably made history if I done it but he said you're not that kind of person you love everybody you're kind to everyone if you kill her then you would become an evil person and you would go to prison for the rest of your life it wouldn't matter that she had hurt us all our lives. He reminded me that I was better than what she was making me which I had tried to hold on to all those years at the time I was only 16 when I was planning this. My brother was 2 years younger than me. When he became an adult at 21 he was diagnosed with adult shaken baby syndrome which the doctor stated was received from the beatings he had as a child the only way that his brain had been damaged where it was was by being beaten against a brick wall and I stated yes our fireplace at home. He had never tried to defend himself against our mother as I had but I had found out that it didn't work. She had lied to our father about what had happened and he had beat me so bad that well when I had tried to get help from their friends no one stepped up I realized their money spread throughout the community did not allow us any help. So I had to slowly watch my brother die a horrible horrible disabilitating death killing what would have been a promising doctor. I am a senior citizen now I have watched all these murders of people these crime shows and how they say oh they had a bad childhood what makes them different from me I went on to try and be a good person and I was I never harmed anybody and I didn't do anything that would be embarrassing to my family I also never became an alcoholic or promiscuous or addicted to anything which my doctors and therapist stated was very unusual for someone with my abused body and brain and family history. I always told them I knew since I was a very tiny child that I was created by a greater being who expected me to be a better person and to be Goods that I could return home that I was not what the personhood adopted me tried to make me into and that my brother had been right when he stopped me from becoming a killer. Everyone he's always surprised if I ever raise my voice which usually happens only in times of great distress. I lived my life reaching out and trying to help others and know that I will have the ability to go home saying I did my best I have nothing to feel guilty about I guess somehow I didn't become a sociopath or psychopath that I could have been. Although I know I was born with those tendencies as I saw that in my past as I look back I'm manipulated as a child the people around me to get the things I wanted. Somehow I broke away from that part of my personality or buried it I don't know. All I know is I chose a different path because I didn't want to harm anyone I didn't blame the world God or anybody else for what happened I came to realize that the woman who raised us and the man who was weak they were ill and not mentally capable of raising children.
I applaud your ability to have stepped out of the abusive world you were raised in. I didn't do as well. I never killed anyone but had a lot of rage when I was younger. I'm really sorry that your brother was eventually killed as a result of what the two of you suffered as kids. May you continue to walk in the light and away from the all consuming darkness

I guess I would have probably made history if I done it but he said you're not that kind of person you love everybody you're kind to everyone if you kill her then you would become an evil person and you would go to prison for the rest of your life it wouldn't matter that she had hurt us all our lives. He reminded me that I was better than what she was making me which I had tried to hold on to all those years at the time I was only 16 when I was planning this. My brother was 2 years younger than me. When he became an adult at 21 he was diagnosed with adult shaken baby syndrome which the doctor stated was received from the beatings he had as a child the only way that his brain had been damaged where it was was by being beaten against a brick wall and I stated yes our fireplace at home. He had never tried to defend himself against our mother as I had but I had found out that it didn't work. She had lied to our father about what had happened and he had beat me so bad that well when I had tried to get help from their friends no one stepped up I realized their money spread throughout the community did not allow us any help. So I had to slowly watch my brother die a horrible horrible disabilitating death killing what would have been a promising doctor. I am a senior citizen now I have watched all these murders of people these crime shows and how they say oh they had a bad childhood what makes them different from me I went on to try and be a good person and I was I never harmed anybody and I didn't do anything that would be embarrassing to my family I also never became an alcoholic or promiscuous or addicted to anything which my doctors and therapist stated was very unusual for someone with my abused body and brain and family history. I always told them I knew since I was a very tiny child that I was created by a greater being who expected me to be a better person and to be Goods that I could return home that I was not what the personhood adopted me tried to make me into and that my brother had been right when he stopped me from becoming a killer. Everyone he's always surprised if I ever raise my voice which usually happens only in times of great distress. I lived my life reaching out and trying to help others and know that I will have the ability to go home saying I did my best I have nothing to feel guilty about I guess somehow I didn't become a sociopath or psychopath that I could have been. Although I know I was born with those tendencies as I saw that in my past as I look back I'm manipulated as a child the people around me to get the things I wanted. Somehow I broke away from that part of my personality or buried it I don't know. All I know is I chose a different path because I didn't want to harm anyone I didn't blame the world God or anybody else for what happened I came to realize that the woman who raised us and the man who was weak they were ill and not mentally capable of raising children.
I applaud your ability to have stepped out of the abusive world you were raised in.
I didn't do as well. I never killed anyone but had a lot of rage when I was younger.
I'm really sorry that your brother was eventually killed as a result of what the two of you suffered as kids.
May you continue to walk in the light and away from the all consuming darkness
