Always great to see the contrast from white to actually seeing it start to look like real rock. Once all the colours are done its going to pop and look fantastic. Great stuff.
WOW! How awesome is that! I half expected you to say.."and we will put a happy little rock over here" like Bob Ross would say while painting, lol! Wonderful work!
It see grayyyyy!!! Lol! Great job Robert! It already looks impressive. I just can't wait for all the other colors to go on. Don't make us wait to long. Cheers RT
Hi Robert , the layout is coming together nicely mate ,the gray wash made a big differences in color no more White plaster keep the good work up cheers Ron
Looking awesome there Robert! What a difference the grey makes all by it's self! Oh, and good thinking with the beer too. Nothing like a few 12oz. (US) curls to relax the wrist in between painting sessions. Always worked for me. Although towards the end I hadn't noticed that I had picked my nose until I saw paint up my nostrils in the mirror. Cheers, Dan
Looks great Robert water base paints are the way to go now I think you should still protect you track , on every stage of doing scenery , Cheers Robert !
Living dangerously Robert! Keeping brushes in a mug. I don't know how many times I've dipped my paint brush in my coffee! ;-) - ruining both. The rock face looks impressive in white, but it's amazing what adding just one colour does, so by the time you've finished other colours and effects it will be stunning. Cheers.,
Davie glad i don't drink coffee and i could see that being a problem lol. And the grey really makes a different compared to white and will be interesting to see the final outcome? cheers Robert
Watching now because I'm working on this as we speak. If I already started, and covered all the plaster with brown, you think I could just repeat this process on top of that? You have any suggestions if the plaster is already painted brown? Thanks if you have time to answer. Brian
Brian you should be able to repeat over the brown, because the brown will be your base and you should get some nice colours showing through cheers Robert
now i wonder if you could have put the grey wash into a sprat bottle and done it that way. ? . just a thought. I know a little late now to mention it. either way, brush or spray bottle, the wrist is getting a work out.
Awesome job you are doing there, it must be cool where your at as I noticed you had a long sleeve sweatshirt on, it's fairly warm here in central Arkansas, been getting a lot of rain and severe weather lately, chance of tornadoes this weekend! How long did it take you to put all the gray on? Job well done sir, keep up the great work, as I am following you on my layout!
David this took about 4 hours all up give or take and hour, and the temp here is about 9 celsius. And hope the Tornadoes keep away from you and stay safe cheers Robert
say you piano lessons have paid off sounds like it .I would have to said sparky 107107 would of used the garden hole to wet the it down. mush easer to spray down it does look great Robert sparky has a great heart for the hobbies the train bug saying hi Jennifer White
Csxmad....you could have covered all of the relevant information in something less than a minute if you had left all of the tedium out, like having us watch all that boring, repetitious painting etc.
