Anyone who has routinely been around deer knows that they are very easily spooked and that their first instinct is to run quickly and far away from the perceived danger. Deer do not always see thin wire fences unless something is hanging on the wires to attract their attention. It is usually good (for the well-being of the deer) that they are easily spooked as they are continually hunted by predators. Mountain lions (aka cougars, aka panthers), wolves, coyotes, automobiles and human hunters are all natural predators of deer. In nearly all cases, deer tend to live another day if they can run quickly from danger. When running quickly from perceived danger, sometimes fatal mistakes are made.... just as humans sometimes make fatal mistakes in such situations. People can substantially decrease collisions between deer and vehicles by mounting small "deer whistles" on the vehicle. As wind passes through the whistles (when a vehicle is approaching the deer), there is a very high-pitched sound given off by the whistle which can be heard by the deer. This alerts the deer in the area that a vehicle is approaching from a distance. In reaction, the deer lift their heads and look at the vehicle while it is still quite far away. Since they are not suddenly startled, they usually will not jump into the path of the vehicle as it passes.

I shot a whitetail one time when i was about 12-13 and it was to the side and down a hill about 75 yards. I hit it (legs bucked in the air and found blood) it had enough strength to run 20 feet THROUGH a 3 string barb-wired fence. Rioped that shit off the nails like nothing. It was atleast a 12 point. To this day biggest one i killed was a 10 point. I hate myself everytime i think about it

The fence looks pretty new so they probably have no idea it’s even there now causing them to run right into it full sprint. Whoever built that fence should have put up something on that line where the opening in the trees are. Countless other animals probably suffered that same fate.
