"FIREHOUSE singer CJ Snare died Friday night (April 5) at age 64. Snare's daughter Heather tells TMZ his official cause of death is cardiac arrest." A friend had tix to FireHouse/Quiet Riot/Ratt/Cinderella (in 2000, i think) and asked me to go. I wasn't a FireHouse fan, but let me tell ya, those guys were pros. The playing was excellent and CJ sang his ass off. RIP

Bryce, wanted to hear if you had any thoughts on the very small sub genre, "technical thrash". In particular the albums from 1989 to 1991 (seems like the technical thrash after 1991 is way different and off the mark) .... Bands like Coroner, Forbidden, Watchtower, Stone, etc.... was wondering if you can recommend some ultra obscurities from that time that I may not know.... Thanks
7th of Never is still my favorite Chastain album. I actually listened to Ruler of the Wasteland, Voice of the Cult, and 7th of Never back to back to back three days ago and 7th just crushes! Leather was at her peak on that album! The Warning by Queensryche has to be up there! Keeper of the Seven Keys: Part 1 is another all-time fav of mine. Hail To England is probably my favorite Manowar album but, Battle Hymns, Sign of the Hammer and, Into Glory Ride are close on my ranking. If we're considering Savatage as Power Metal I'm taking Hall of the Mountain King as my #1 by a long shot!

Fates warning is from Connecticut Hartford.
I'm 51 and grew up in the 80's. You know 80's metal way better than me. I've never even heard of a couple of these bands... hat's off to you Bryce!

David T. Chastain extremely underrated for sure Within the Heat is a killer album . I got Savatage number 1 ALL DAY !
As always you just blew me away 😂 check out Chateux Fire power.
Agree with Savatage at #1, would definitely have Helloween Keeper Pt. 2 at #2. Great list. I have no idea who Savage Grace or Heavy Load are. Thanks.
I am not a big power metal fan but I watch anything Bryce uploads. Thanks for the list going to check the ones I am not familiar with out :)
Great list. ”Power Metal” by Pantera is my personal favorite, probably due to sentiment.
I wish that album would get reissued.

@@brycetalksmetalCheck out Sacred Oath - A Crystal Vision. A stellar power/trad metal album from Connecticut. 1988
Yeah that’s good… I like my 10 a bit better tho, definitely could be an honorable mention for me
Great stuff. BRYCE/ keep it up. 👍💯
I'd probably put Death or Glory by Running Wild as my favorite. Very nice list though
Think its important to distinguish between US Power Metal and Euro Power Metal which is often called “flower metal”.
Bit off topic, but what do you think of Axxis? EDIT: Well, i guess technically it's not off topic, heheheh
The first 2 Sanctuary albums are a combination of thrash and power metal, not just power metal. Awesome albums though.
No theyre US power metal a completely different beast than say Blind Guardian.
Connecticut Metal bands. Fate’s Warning, Obsession and House of Lords.
ESP and Sacred Oath, all killer bands!!
No Manowar wow
Not much into them
My pick is Satan’s Host - Metal From Hell (1986)
yes!

Yeah I saw, sucks

How Helloween's Keeper Part 1 can be in 6th place? All right, your rankings are subjective.
