So I am very wary of flips from a past bad experience and my partner and I tried doing this one since it seems well supported. However when I tried rolling over slowly to get used to it, I slipped through his arms and landed painfully head-first on the floor. What did we do wrong?
I'm very sorry to hear this happened to you. First thing, please be sure to use a spotter when learning new things or reacquainting yourself with past skills. Second, which aerial are you referring to?
@@swingindenver Oops forgot to say-- the back-to-back/Frankie flip. We had tried it without injury in the past but found out we had the wrong arm grip (lead's arms over top instead of under), and since we hadn't had any problems in the past we didn't think about using a spotter when we switched. The accident happened with the correct arm hook (no lasting injury though).
@@katherinemoore874 Frankie Manning has done it both ways in various videos if I recall correctly. Key suggestions: both the flyer and base need to follow-through the motion. Flyer: hips arcing over the head. Base: using arms at an upward trajectory and sometimes a "pop" using shoulder blades and rhomboid muscles. Be careful with this one and probably use a spotter.
How possible to don't? Of course! I am crazy for trying it, so pity that In Africa hardly I could find a follower, I must wait some months till back to Spain
She does not jump. She will feel an upward impulse from the leader as he starts lifting from his legs. At the moment, she'll focus on keeping her lats and shoulder engaged downward. Once the rolling over motion starts, she'll shape into an open tuck, so she can roll her hips up and over. Let me know if you need more detail.

Silverio Rosales True. Well, good luck when you return to Spain
I can barely hear the video. In the back to back does the girl just roll or does she jump?
