Eastward's soundtrack is genuinely amazing, I can't wait to hear the new tracks in the DLC.

I really love this album. I think it’s cute and light. I always listen to it once in a while. My favorite is “City Night”, but I also enjoy every other songs equally.😌 Thank you for making the music!❤

Such a special journey Eastward was. Stage quest was one of my favorite tracks! Although my favorite musical point in the whole game had to be Iron Carbine.

They say the hero of Eastward was John. Some say it was Sam.
I say it was Jammin' Joel 🎶
*Edit: Joel definitely do a stream!*
It was the Eastward soundtrack that helped nudge me into music theory and FL Studio.

Another favorite scene and track that break my heart and cry is, “To My knight”. Lost, Sad but have to accept and move forward till the end.
The gentle hug, fade away, everything holds dear are gone, sword dropped. The track fit perfectly.

I revisited the soundtrack for Eastward today, after giving it a year to sit in the back of my head. This song in particular has got to be my favorite, and the fact that you made a video breaking it down makes that even better! I tinker around with music creation and production, so this video was practically made for me!

Hey Joel! Eastward is an amazing soundtrack. It has some of my favorite ambient songs ever, but I also really enjoyed the more upbeat and chiptune tracks. It has inspired me in a lot of my own productions! I'd love to talk to you some day on my own music podcast!

dude the music was one of the best part of the game, you did a really amazing job! I was really inspired by your work, and got into making this style of videogame inspired music. I love it! So thank you Joel. It is also really nice of you to share the synth that you used, really love the sound of it.

Love this. “Underground” has become my favorite track, would love to know what the inspiration was behind that one, there’s something about it that’s overwhelmingly nostalgic.

I just want to say that the music you created for Eastward is absolutely legendary, and probably at least 70% of the reason I love the game.
Hearing you share these little tidbits about the creation process is super interesting.

Dude, I loved your soundtrack for Eastward! It's so cool to hear you talk about how you weaved the real NES sounds with modern instruments! I don't fully grasp it, but it's still really interesting

Love your music Joel, massive fan here, I listen to the Eastward soundtrack almost everyday, its amazing background listening especially when I'm coding. My favourite pieces are Tale and Johnnys. Wishing you all the all the best with your future projects, I will be looking forward to them!

Thank you so much, Joel, for this look at "Strange Quest." If it was composed that late in development, then indeed, it was an unfinished or unpolished version in the demo released in 2019. But when I heard that track kick in for the first time, I got chills and was immediately hooked! Game music is everything to my gaming experience, and Eastward is on a whole other level.
I had no idea you actually used the NES midi to bring authenticity to the chiptunes!
I absolutely love the eclectic collection of tunes in Eastward, and selfishly, I'd love a breakdown and your thoughts on the full Eastward OST at some point.
Also! So glad to hear that you are still involved with Eastward: Octopia! As someone hoping for an Eastward 2 someday, that will have to do ;)

8:50 blew me away the fact that there is an acoustic drum kit in there. It would be great if you can explain the process of tucking it in there. Is the low end side chained at all?

tough question, but probably Jóhann Jóhannsson (for film) and Steve Reich for more modern concert music or maybe Stravinsky haha
