the 4 minutes per inch per side is literally all i have ever asked for from someone to give me. tysm
I've binged watched a million steak cooking videos for this exact information
Best advice is get a thermometer. I got one for Christmas and I love it. No more guessing or overcooked meat. It’s great for making caramel and toffee, too.
Yeh never rely completely on time. All steaks in different even if they are the same cut.
@@alduin69same I needed that

Where did you learn to cook? Your methods are very technical and everything I’ve learned from culinary school.
I went to culinary school and cooked at the Four Seasons
@@CookingwithShereen that's why you cook makes me enthusiastic. I used to have a part time at Shangri-la for 2 years as a pastry helper.

My husband sent me a text. This is the best steak I have made yet. He said delicious twice with 2 ❤ emojis. He never does that. I'm so happy thank you for this easy steak recipe
so you made him a steak and he had to send you a text to tell you how it was?

Bro, as a fellow Jew, why are you here? We can't have the sauce.
I really like this lady...she seem so fun to hang out with....the lady that makes girls night out fun.
Until you're cooking with her and she goes full Gordon Ramsay mode. Next moment you're making something and she's asking for the "fucking lamb sauce" and your only possible reply is a meek, "yes, chef".
She don’t struck me like a woman that’s into girls night out. She seems, and come across like a good wife.

I just realized I've watched this 6-10 x. Lol. Outstanding. Thank you, Chef.
She cooking steak. NAW I did too
I made this for my at the time girl friend 12 years ago along side some Brussel sprouts, roasted red potatoes and an arugula salad. She loved it. She's my wife now. And I teach my step daughter how to cook. I love this dish.

Tell your wife to cook that's her job
@@allanhood4397No, no, no. My wife would have this steak well-done or beyond. In my family, I'm the cook. The kitchen is mine. She gets the rest.
Cooking and learning the classics - lesson 1:
A woman tells you: „don‘t touch it!“ … you MUST NOT touch it!
Same, if a man tells you not to touch.
Life can be so easy!
I touched it and now have 4 kids
..You're right.
Good rule when grilling/frying meat. DON'T F**** TOUCH IT. IT WILL COOK WITHOUT YOUR ASSISTANCE.
If there's one thing I've learned it's never touch anything you can't replace
You had to make it weird.

My brain: Peter Pan Seared Steak
Lol
Anyway, it looks delicious! I want to try making it one day.
That's what I saw 😂😂

Im so glad to have found your channel! Im currently in Culinary school, and i have to say, you know how to teach. Simple, concise, informative, and fun. You have a wonderful way with words! Cheers, sweet mama! 🧡
I love your recipes and the videos explain the cooking process so simply! Masterful!
Am a Jamaican and I love how u tell us the time down to the minute, everything on point girl...keep it coming
I love how she gets right to the point !
Some shows they would still be unwrapping the damn meat. Bravo!
I'm a pretty good cook, and I love cooking, but my steaks (inside cooking) are not so great. I'm going to follow your instructions and try again. Everything I have made from you has been perfection. Thank you!
My steaks are always hit or miss. So I feel your pain.
I thought I was a good cook but you have helped me level up my skills an extra notch. Please do a chicken wing vid I'm keen to see how you make yours. Many blessings to you
Just made this tonight, best meal I’ve had in a long time Thank you Shereen!
Hubby loved it! Thank you so much!
I feel like she's the only person in the world who can put Gordon Ramsay in silence mode.
Gordon Ramsay is a great chef, but let’s face it- many other chefs are as good, and if not, better.
@@atyourbesturluv.7106 I completely agree with you

“Don’t touch it…..Don’t touch it!” 😃🤣
It's only one inch, I'm not touching it 😩😂😂
I don’t eat red meat often, but when I do, I want something delicious like this!
WARNING: Whatever you do, do not cook the steak fridge-cold. Rest it on the cutting board for at least 10-30 minutes before you season it. It cooks better.
There's actually no proof whatsoever bringing the steak to room temperature does anything
And eating half cooked meat ? Really? Why pink meat with blood in it ? Nasty...🤢🤢🤢
@@silversurfer647it’s not blood you damn knuckle dragger
The steak never comes to room temp the only thing that comes to room temp may be the surface. To many people have done video experiments debunking letting your steak come to room temp.

She knows exactly how to cook. Besides who she is. She knows what she is doing! It's great. Most videos are falsehoods. This is a joy!
Shereen. I had two major problems thanks to your cooking.
I tried to eat that lush looking steak. Now i've broken my teeth AND my mobile. :(
"Thanks a lot"

My mouth is watering.... The steak looks delicious too 😉
Steak? There was steak too? This day just keeps getting better!! 🤤

Shereen !!! You did it again lady… perfecto 💪🏾💜
You black that meat is raw lol
Fantastic, I'm a single bloke and never been able to cook steak properly without it being like shoe leather. All the other cooks piss about with this and that taking half an hour for the video, but you said it so quickly and simply that even I can do it well, and I did, I'm hooked now. Thank you so much.
I made this for my wife on our anniversary. Thank you so much.. she loved it. 😊
I need you to get a show on tv ❤
what heat do you put the stove on? Medium or High?
If it's 4 mins per inch per side, is a 1.5 inch steak 6 mins per side? Or just 4 minutes?
(2 inch steak would be 8 min per side)
This was great! Just made it. the only difference is i didn't have Avocado oil, used grapeseed oil to start with. This method, especially the timing, totally fixed my pan seared striploin steak compared to any I've meade before.
Excellent! I refrigerate the steaks after salting for up to two days to allow the salt to work into the steak.
You're gonna mess around and get a new husband Tell him I do cage matches It's a fight to the table😅😅😅 I love her videos

Thank you, I made 3 for dinner first time ever. They came out perfect. My boyfriend and his friend and I thought they were delicious, nothing left. A big success.
She is absolutely the perfect woman- her husband should worship this lady
You speak man's language perfectly. All the details, nothing wasted.
Can’t really screw up on making a normal steak. Can’t really say nothing wasted when all she did was make a sauce as it’s supposed to be made.
Cooked my first steak with Shereen ❤ & it was absolutely amazing.

That's how it's done properly it is so great to see delicious meals cooked by you. Martha has nothing on you.
All I here when I see your videos... Is because I'm fancy....😂😂😂😂 Your are a really good chef.
Honest question, what does she say at the very beginning to start the video??? Thyme brown butter baste is literally the first words I understand.. can someone subtitle it or tel me what she says?? 😂 after that amazing video tho 🔥
I always prefer rosemary to thyme in this recipe and i feel like rosemary was more common but lately everyone uses thyme. Both are nice though
Yes. I have watched you cook a few times and yes you are profecto❤
I cant fry my steak but damn girl you made me a believer with that final plating!
Love your succint no time wasted approach to tutorials! A huge fan already!
She's so gorgeous and her enthusiasm is awesome.
“Wooooo, that’s whatchoo want Bebe!!!!” You got that right! I’m dead! 😅😂
This woman is an excellent teacher but I like mine well done.
Don’t know if the recipe is any good, but recipe instructions are very good!! Definitely will try this soon.
The one problem is you shouldn't whisk in the butter at the end. Just let it sit there and melt naturally, and swirl the pan to incorporate. The sauce will have a better viscosity that way
You are the most entertaining cook I've ever watched!! Like a ballet, love it!
You ain't seen nothing yet! Haha (woody harellson, natural born killers)...I'd like to think I'm a amusing chef, but I'm a far cry from being hot as her!
“Heat until the oil shimmers” is that high heat, medium heat, medium high heat???? What’s the heat on the stove????
looks good but try 3 minutes per. NY gets a little grainy when it's that done (closer to the medium side), a little more rare is better! 😉
A side note...
If you're using a grill then flip *every minute* until you've gone your 4 minutes each side, you'll get a better, all over sear and much less gray ring! 😊 (If you have a screaming hot frying pan, go closer to two on the first go so your presentation side is good, then do your flip every minute until you hit the temp you like... Then proceed with your sauce as above). 😊
“You wanna come over after school?”
Me: “Is your mom home?”
“No 😏”
Me: “Then no”
Love how shes chill and sass at the same time
Salted or unsalted butter? And how long if you want it well done?
Made this for my wife and I with a 1 1/2 inch strip 5.5 minutes each side and they were perfect. The sauce on top was the finishing touch.
It’s killing me she only put salt but she’s such a good cook and I love her personality

Why don't Americans use thick grain salt? The thin stuff gets in it.
I actually almost enjoyed this post. No food throwing or over dramatic acting. DYLAN is the only one this works for.
Lucky husband! When I mentioned steak, my wife will look in the frig and shout “let’s go out!”
I absolute love Shereen’s clips. Bloody brilliant… BUTTAH!
Okay internet...ya'll do exactly what she just said to do. That sauce was flipping amazing! Seriously just leveled up my game.

“Yo what’s your shredding meals you eat??” “Mf whatever my mom cooks”
WOW, that looks amazing ! 😁
That really really really well is important for a good sear hence the emphasis on really
I think the better choice is oiling the steak, not the pan. Also just use kitchen tissue to dry the steak. ALSO NON STICKY PAN (in my opinion only)
What pan do you use?? Love your cooking and you’re right to the point!!
Pro tip: deglaze with stout rather than fine.
Wine is fine, but beer is better.
Great instructions! Great recipe! Thank you 😊
