You got me totally psyched up with this great, very simple, demonstration on the arduino and ultrasonic sensor...I am new to programming but have been interested for many years,...great job keep posting.
I got a few of these for a motorised mixing desk need lots of analogue inputs though trying to figure out how to link them all up and also give it an OS
There are some displays, that are "compatible with the arduino mega". Does that mean, that i can plug them directly into the arduino mega, without using an adapter? And do they also work with the arduino due?

+Abhishek Krishna Right now Arduino.Org boards are not considered "Original" by many because there is a lawsuit against them. because they stopped paying licensing fees, Right now Arduino.cc's manufacturer is Adafruit being made in the U.S which most consider "Original". But a lot is still manufactured by Arduino.org since they were the original manufacturer of arduino boards anyway...

Well presented video with lots of interesting information. 30 years ago, I did experiments with the Poloroid distance sensor kit, with the idea in mind to make a small radio altimeter to help float plane pilots when landing in glassy water. It worked, but I wish this technology would have been available back then, it would have been a snap to make an inexpensive, workable system. I am just starting with Arduino, and will be ordering a mainboard to start experimenting.
What do you do if you want to connect multiple sensors to the same arduino?

have to use em for school, they are a bit more complicated than avr, but you can get the disco developement boards with some great stuf intergrated (ie: screens, gyros, audio ports,usb host)

***** Thank you.. I'm sorry to hear that :(Keep an eye on ebay, sometimes the Arduino Nanos go for £ 2 ! It only has 14 I/O pins, but it is still pretty awesome :)(Make sure it has the USB connector, some of the cheapest require a separate programming board)

Instead of seeing the distance on your laptop, I want to see it on a seperate small display so it will be portable.
