Josh may have struggled the first 20+ years of his life but through his message he will save many lives . I haven't been to prison, or been a drug addict yet I was deeply touched by his story and serves as a reminder that through God all things are possible. God Bless you Josh
Its refreshing how you get such a new, diverse & interesting guests to a podcast. All the other podcasts have the same guests over n over talk about same things. Keep Killin' It, doing CT proud! Its cool to only be like 45 mi away from the Danbury area & get to hear these great stories
I’ve watched every one of the videos on this channel. It’s truly amazing how much I have in common with each and every person you’ve interviewed. Keep it up.
Ian’s naïveté is adorable 😂 And I wish I could give Joshua a hug 😕 Kudos to both of you for learning from your mistakes and turning them into positives ❤️
Thank you so much for having Joshua on. While all of your guests stories are interesting and motivational, this was for me one of the most inspirational episodes!
I love what he had to say about Narcotics Anonymous because NA isn’t about just getting clean and working the 12 Steps. You have access to a whole community of people who have been where you are and have gotten through it, and community support is so important for people reentering society.
Ian... Another educating podcast. Much ❤ and Respect to your guest and You 💯 This story is crazy it's sad he went he was that young out of the gate. He didn't stand a chance.
Sometimes I wonder if I was blessed or cursed after hearing stories like Joshua's. I'm 60 yrs old in my 20s I was homeless a thief burglar male prostitute alcoholic never arrested never in prison and still dealing with the shame and guilt
I think he's speaking of when his family sent him to live with his biological father that he hardly knew. I think it was more of a "we have to do this" than "we want to disown him". Maybe @ian can clarify.
It is so hard to listen to his childhood. I was 20 when I had my son. Got divorced a year later, a single mom for the next 9 years. Even having been in a major car accident, leaving me to dozens of back surgeries. I NEVER EVER laid a hand on my son's face. I hit his hand 1x, and his bottom maybe 1x. Smacking him made him laugh because his father hit him ALL THE TIME. It breaks my heart truly that he was treated like that so young. No excuses just because she was young and single. Young is a teen mom. 21 is an adult. Especially since she had quit school in middle school. She may not have been educated, but she was street wise. I'm only this far in so I'll be surprised how their relationship turns out that he could say he loves her unconditionally. I get it. You have 1 mom. But mom's shouldn't treat their children that they grew in their bodies that way. 😢 Parents are meant to give you a moral foundation, right vs wrong, thinking skills. If you have that then choose trouble that's on you. But parents that treat their kids like buddies is where the kids get into trouble if they don't have a mother and father type role models. Until you're 18, their your parents after that they can choose to be buddies with you. My son and I are best friends. He's helped me I've helped him. I know till my dying day I can count on him. I taught him right.
You Sound like a great mother!! My moms kicked me out to go live with my junkie brother n dad before I could graduate LOl u can prob guess how that turned out lol
Ian it doesnt matter if u have both parents or not. I had two great parents i still ended up in jail 3 felonies and became addicted to drugs. It doesnt matter if u got a two parent household
Looking forward to listening to this! Glad I discovered your channel. Would be cool to hear some stories of someone that has tried / successfully escaped a prison - No idea if that’s a feasible request for a guest on the show though 🤣
I just got off probation. Im so thankful im not under supervision anymore if the officer doesnt like you. Your gonna violate. I early termed and got off in 6 months. Got drug tested once and that was it
First note, I didn't know there was an HBO special. Second note, mom was a hustler. That Thanksgiving she put together.... much respect for that. You literally grew up while your mom was also growing up. That's a difficult dynamic but so common in America. I honestly believe the downfall of our nation is and will be the fatherless child. I have heard a lot of kids say that DH or Juvie, is the most stable time they had because of the structure. It feels like you weren't given a shot in hell to succeed because of the lack of parenting. You definitely look like Mr. Musk haha Elon would probably love to meet you LOL I'm so glad God finally got to your heart!
Ian, your interview skills are outstanding. For a " side hustle" you could teach people how to interview a guest. Some very prominent hosts are horrible at their job. As a former C/O I wish you the best.
I tried to remember kindergarten. Can’t do it. Can’t remember it at all. Don’t remember friends, teachers, can’t even remember the school. Can’t even remember what state I was in during it. Went as far back as I can remember and I’d guess 3rd grade is where my memories start. About 6-7
Fix the feedback. I'm here for ya but, incase you dont see dm...only complaint I love yall fir giving this to some. From Kent to jd to here, I. So very grateful. I didn't know what was what.
I’m 32 and not a felon but in my working life so far I have not worked for any company who cares about felonies A lot of guys I work with have one or more. I do excavation I don’t think my background has ever been ran either. I’ve worked around too chasing money.
Yes ys 30 year olds and 40 year olds need to tell the youth and try to teach them or tell them when they are doing wrong. Sometimes they need to hear it from someone like us guys in our 30s who are still young enough wherre they dont think we are squares or old men. They usually tend to listen to those who have been in the streets in the drug scene. Ill tell people co workerrs or anyone if they are doing the wrong thing ill tell them my story. Bout having 3 felonies ruined my job search it always comes up and hinders u from getting apartments and jobs. Jail isnt fun either all these things they might have to learn the hardway but hopefull not
I kind of like this dude, i can tell he's def damaged goods, traumatized for sure mentally forked over!! i'm glad he got it together, hope it gets better for him.
He looks like a rat. But cuz they tryna come on the show to clear there name up and tell there story there way smh. All his super tough guy shit sounds like bs. This dude acts like he can beat up anyone! Why don't he get in in the ring and make some bread then... probably cuz it's 80% cap!
Why doesnt the government do away with peoples felonies after they have served or completed their punishment sentence? Seems like that this is on the fence as double jeopardy. I could understand some felons that never change or would cheat the system, but there still should be away that felons can get certain Eloise canceled.
I got paddled like a motherfucker by a retired navy intelligence officer that was a master chief on a sub in the late 70s to early eighties. Over the same shit
You can tell how stunted this kid is from the very first thing he says to Ian about him joking with his brother. Instead of something funny or a joke he says “he said he secretly hates you, since the day he was born” such a weird awkward thing to say.
He's a little green, yes. He's learning. He's been doing this for only like 9 months and has done a wonderful job taking in the criticism, even asking for it, and then running with it to improve. I'm very impressed with @ian
He probably has a definity disorder like I have that I use to fight non stop in kindergarten It defines he disorder is developed by trauma that's happened from a parent normally because of abuse
josh - a piece of wisdom, MONEY - does not make elon musk a better man than you brother, and i think you know what i mean. p.s. and i like elon a lot , so thats saying a lot bud!!
Lol I also had a relationship from kindergarten to first grade until I was moved away. I hooked up my kindergarten “relationship” in college after we hadn’t seen each other for like 10-15 years lol it was sooooo weird but awesome at the same time
@@ianbickCT I wasn't being negative bro I realize that some "hard core gangsters" might look down on a white dude that only did low level time but I think it's worth a try to get these hard core gangsters on. @alexanderlitvan503 There are a 100 other prison channels out their that preach the stay "solid", stay "hard" nonsense. It's irrelevant where someone did their time, whether the cooperated or not, if their soft or hard, or what the "Hard" guys think. It is THEIR story, and there is a place for everyone's story to be heard. Ian provides us a fresh difference than the other prison channels that preach the "stay solid" nonsense do not show. He also has guest that other channels don't have. Bottom line is there is a channel for everyone's preference. I like this channel cause Ian let's them tell their story good or bad. Lmao he said he was 32 and Ian said it woulda been the early 90’s when he was a teenager 😂😂 he’s only 4-5 years older than you hahahah
