Minister of Justice and Community Services Clarifies Government's Stance Against LGBTQAI+ Practices in Vanuatu.
The Minister of Justice and Community Services has recently outlined the government's position of not supporting LGBTQAI+ practices in Vanuatu. The minister's council has decided that the government will not endorse same-sex relationships, including those involving lesbians, gay, bisexual, transgender individuals, and others.
The minister also announced that a working committee will be formed next week to develop a national policy addressing this issue. The government's decision is based on three key considerations, including the belief that such practices conflict with Vanuatu's traditional laws and customs.
