Year 2024 and finally I found the voice behind that most iconic and incomparable legendary voice from the Titanic. I am shaking literally and crying as well❤
Sissel is VERY different from any soprano I've ever seen. not only is her voice absolutely crystal clear and angelic but she does something else that none other seems to do... she is always smiling with her entire persona as she sings. what a beautiful person she must be as those smiles are derived from deep within...
+Ammar Falih Actually, sissel was meant to sing the entire song. But because Hollywood wanted a more "known" artist on the front cover it landed on Celine Dion.
+Sindre Skjelbostad well Hollywood made a BIG mistake in my humble opinion (at least regarding the title song). Not taking anything away from Celine however Sissel is in a very lonely class... she's the only one in it. she makes you want to do only very good things for those that touch you.
I didn't know Celine before Titanic, Now she is so famous in the world just for singing Titanic, I don't agree with you Rofi uddin . Sissel might not be perfect for Celine's type of songs, but she is the one who is tooo perfect for the Titanic.
From the first day I heard Celine in the Titanic, I felt there was something missing, I used to hear Dido and felt she was the one whom should sing it, but No, after hearing Sissel she was something extraordinary and shocked when I knew she was the voice behind the beautiful Humming of the Titanic. Agian, bad choice for Hollywood
I'm a Massive Titanic fan. This lady made me feel that I was their on the deck the night it hit that iceberg, She made me feel the soles of all te people that were lost that April; night back in 1912. she gave me Goosebumps.
I remember talking with my Grandmother about it. She was 12 years old at the time & it had just come over radio that the family had recently acquired. She lived in NYC and the family was going to go over to the docks to meet this magnificent ship they were all hearing about at the time. The family owned a bakery in Manhattan. Like yesterday I remember her tearing up because she was always very emotional.
At 01:22 my heart is overwhelmed by such beauty. James Horner composed an amazing score and used Sissel's vocals to perfection. I fell in love with her magical voice!!
I tried for years to figure how the name was behind the gorgeous, crystal clear singing voice in Titanic, and I'm so glad I finally found her. She deserved to have her name more prominently shared like Celine's during the release of the film. Now, I'm just trying to find the name of the singer in James Cameron's "Avatar" who sings along with the orchestra during Tsu'tey's death and the shutting down of Grace's lab... I can't find her name anywhere, and I'd really like to know!!
I can't stop listening to this. I was once a choir member, and it inspires me to practice it all the time 😅 By the way, who's watching in 2020 while on quarantine? KEEP SAFE EVERYONE :)
James Horner selected Sissel to sing the soundtracks but James Cameron did disagree. Sissel had no name. Celine Dion had. But Sissel managed to give voice to the haunting humming.

Sissel may be Norway's greatest treasure. The purity and clarity of her vocal tones is amazing. Her musicality and passion is stunning. Her ability to "deliver the song" and "tell the story" are extraordinary and are only enhanced by her magnificent stage presence and enchanting eyes (a little recognized and used and incredible tool in a singer's arsenal).
