Dear Nehra,
I passed my RHCSA Exam ver 9.3 today. Your exam video is awesome and questions were almost same.
1. I added BaseOS and AppStream as repository as given in exam.
dnf repolist all
this command showed that repos all added and enabled. But when I tried to install any package using
dnf install -y
command was not running and giving error that register the system using subscription-manager command. No username and password was given in exam to register the system with subscription-manager.
Luckily I did not need to install any package and all were already pre-installed.
2. fdisk command was not found on system and I could not install it because system was not registered. I had to made partition using gdisk command.
If you know anything about it. discuss it in your video for others.
Anyway, I passed the exam.

You could have used gdisk command, now a days guid partition table (GPT) is required

Container is being shown running on RHEL9 after reboot but no files are being generated in /home/paradise/container_journal folder. Do we have to change permission of the coiped systemd.journal file for paradise user or leave it like root:root. Because you copied the file to container_journal as root.
In this scenario, it seems like the container is running after a reboot, but the necessary logs or files are not being generated in the /home/paradise/container_journal folder. This could be due to permission issues or other misconfigurations.
Key Points to Consider:
File Ownership and Permissions:
If you copied the systemd.journal file as the root user, it will retain the ownership root:root.
If the service running inside the container needs to write to this file, and it’s running as a non-root user (e.g., the paradise user), then you might need to change the ownership or permissions of the file.
Steps to Resolve:
Change Ownership:
If the paradise user needs to write to the container_journal folder, you should change the ownership of the directory and file to paradise.
sudo chown -R paradise:paradise /home/paradise/container_journal
Check Permissions:
Ensure that the permissions of the container_journal directory and the systemd.journal file allow writing by the paradise user.
sudo chmod -R 755 /home/paradise/container_journal
Check Service Configuration:
If the container or service running in the container expects the file to be owned by root, you may not need to change the ownership but ensure the service has the necessary capabilities to write to the folder.
Testing the Configuration:
After making the above changes, restart the container or service to see if files are being generated as expected.
You can monitor the folder for any new files or check the service logs for any errors related to permissions.
By adjusting the ownership or permissions as needed, you should be able to resolve the issue and ensure that the files are generated correctly.

ive got a vdo question on exam that i should use unpartitioned disk but all the disk already had partitions. wipefs wont delete them... what should be action?
In the RHCSA exam, if you're instructed to use an unpartitioned disk and you find that all the disks already have partitions, and wipefs doesn't remove them, you can take the following actions:
1. Use fdisk or parted to Delete Partitions
Using fdisk:
Open the disk with fdisk:
sudo fdisk /dev/sdX
Replace /dev/sdX with the appropriate disk name.
View the existing partitions:
p
Delete all existing partitions:
d
If there are multiple partitions, you may need to run the d command multiple times to delete each partition.
Write the changes and exit:
w
Using parted:
Start parted:
sudo parted /dev/sdX
List the partitions:
print
Delete each partition:
rm NUMBER
Replace NUMBER with the partition number you want to delete.
Exit parted:
quit
2. Use sgdisk to Wipe the Disk Completely
If you want to wipe the entire partition table and metadata:
Run the following command to remove all partition tables (including GPT):
sudo sgdisk --zap-all /dev/sdX
This will clear all the partitioning information on the disk.
3. Confirm Disk is Unpartitioned
After deleting the partitions, you can use the following command to confirm that no partitions are left:
sudo lsblk /dev/sdX
The output should show no partitions under the disk.
4. Use wipefs with Force Option
If wipefs was not effective earlier, try using it with the -a (all) and -f (force) options:
sudo wipefs -a -f /dev/sdX
This should remove any lingering filesystem signatures that might be causing issues.
Summary
The best approach in your case would likely be to use fdisk or parted to manually delete the existing partitions, ensuring the disk is completely unpartitioned and ready for the task as required by the exam. If the disk still shows remnants, sgdisk --zap-all will comprehensively clear everything on the disk.

In container question, everything is perfect. But i have noticed that after reboot of VM, the /run/log/journal/ directory gets empty and there is no folder with the long alphanumeric characters. I am using Oracle virtual box with RHEL 9.2 iso file. Please confirm the reason
1-with skopeo inspect to the rsyslog image you used, and all others, we see that: arquitecture is "amd64", what that means, i ve an i386 an it works as weel

Yes, you're right. Vdo in not available on rhel 9. This question is solved on rhel 8 machine in this video. All questions which were based on rhel 9 were solved on different machine running in vmware

One Correction according to me sir, at 2:00:50 you took path of (/var/log/journal), It should be (run/log/journal) as you were solving it on RHEL9.
It's /var/log/journal. Because when you change the configuration of journal /etc/system/journal.. , the journal logs are stored under var,,/log/journal. You should not really be touch run/journal

VDO has been moved into the lvm command set in RHEL 9. You can find more information at `man lvmvdo`. An example command for creating a VDO volume in RHEL 9 is `lvcreate --type vdo -n web_storage -l 100%FREE -V 30G vdo-vg`.

@@NehraClasses I can't screenshot it but while taking the exam I did nmtui first then i put the proper ip address, gateawy and the dns server with including the hostname. Then i did nmcli connection down with given device name then nmcli conneciton up with given device name. Then when i check ip addr i couldn't see it

Hi Sir, today I took my RHCSA
exam. Faced with a strange issue, I am not able to login to node1 of the vm with the provided root username and password. Is this a common issue or I made some mistake?It showed clean login and after several tries not able to login even to the vm.So I didn't even get the chance to proceed further
In RHEL 9 direct root login through ssh is disabled in the configuration file.
From where did you prepare for the exam? I see that you don't have our channel membership, it means you did it from somewhere else.

Vdo is not there. Lvm thin provisioning volumes are there, which we have already covered.

lvcreate --type vdo --size 5G --virtualsize 50G --name
I think vdo is deprecated in RHEL 9. I think the right answer for the vdo question is lvmvdo
VDO & Stratis is not available in RHEL 9 RHCSA exam, already explained about it.
@@NehraClasses Both VDO and Stratis are in RHEL 9. Stratis is the same as RHEL 8, and VDO has been moved into the LVM command set. You can find more information at `man lvmvdo`. An example command for creating a VDO volume in RHEL 9 is `lvcreate --type vdo -n web_storage -l 100%FREE -V 30G vdo-vg`.
As far as whether either is on the RHCSA 9 exam, well, that's a different question. I'm not really sure, but they're not listed on the blueprint.

you cannot paste in the terminal. You have to SSH the server machines from your workstation machine to be able to copy paste.
