- If you run a rebuildable tank, eventually you are going to have to clean the coils and rewick the cotton. And if you are running a darker liquid like I am, your coils are likely to get gummed up really bad. In this video, I show you from start to finish how to take apart, clean and rewick the Smok TF-RTA G4.

Good job Tony 👍 Just after wicking my own G4, I put new coils in, man that was hard. I like smok tanks but have had nothing but bad luck with their mods. This is one unique tank. Shout out Joe from Ireland 🤗
Yea, the G4 is definitely not easy to wick, but I loved the tank. I actually popped the coils on my G4 and G2, and ended up getting a new mod and tank. I'm now hitting the Smok Mag P3 with the TFV16 tank on it. It sucks having to purchase coils for it since it's not rebuilable, but it's not bad.
If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your new coils for the G4 and which coils did you go with, and how do you like them? I like my P3 mod, but I REALLY want to go back to the G4!
@@Tonysvapes I actually built the coils myself, kanthal 26 gauge 2.5 I'd on my coil jig, 5 wraps each came out to 0.42 was fairly awkward, got there in the end though, thanks.

@@villagevaperreviews6103 Ah, so you just went with straight 26ga, and didn't go back with the claptons.... Interesting. I have been spoiled with the claptons flavor, and saw that you can get 15 feet of it (3 meters aprox) for about $12. This is for the 26ga wrapped with 32ga, same as what is on the tank from teh factory (measured it just now). May have to drop some cash and get this old girl back firing again! lol. Just a tip Tony, got some coilology 2.5 MTL fused Clapton's, 28 gauge found it handy to rebuild, just snipping to length was hardest part. They slip round the top of post nice and handy🤗. Hope you find this useful. I found any bigger guage to be really difficult to tighten on the top of post. Shout out Joe from Ireland 🤗🇨🇮
