- Sri Ramana Ashram, also known as Sri Ramanasramam, is the ashram which was home to modern sage and Advaita Vedanta master Ramana Maharshi from 1922 until his death in 1950. It is situated at the foot of the Arunachala hill, to the west of Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, where thousands of seekers flocked to be in his presence. His samadhi shrine continues to attract devotees from all over the world.
The ashram gradually grew in its present location after Ramana Maharshi settled near the Samadhi shrine of his mother Alagammal, who died on May 19, 1922. In the beginning, a single small hut was built there, by 1924 two huts were set up, one opposite the samadhi and the other to the north.
Niranjananda Swami, younger brother of Ramana Maharshi, who had moved to the ashram along with his mother in 1916, stayed at the ashram for the rest of his life and handling its management.His son and grandson have looked after the ashram in turn.

Lord arunachaleswara bagavan ramanamaharshi saved from death when I was in coma my soul came out of my physical body bagavan helped me to enter into my body again he hold my hand....after two years I came to know his name is ramanamaharshi when i saw his photo in others house ...I heard arunchala name that day changed my life I started meditation and sadhna to know myself

The only place I know, where you could freely let everything go - just beeing there, where Sri Ramana still vibrating and constantly calling you, to surrender, to merge into infinity, forever.

Spiritual destination for one and all PRANAMAMS
I had been to Ashram not less than 6 times. Great feeling. 3 times stayed in the premises guest house. Each time 3 days. Along with my friend from USA.Mr. Shivraj. 5 times I have walked around the Hill 14km. Wonderfull experience. It is said Rishi Muni's have Walked along that route from centuries.
I already book my room in Ramana asramam through email sir ...can I do girivalam in staying Ramana asramam ..it's possible once tell me sir asramam timings please sir ...
