Thanks brother! I really appreciate that! Yeah if you found me, you’ve definitely been digging deep into harmonica TH-cam. Haha. I need to get back to making videos.

I'm in "what might I want" mode and the one that you're using I'm tempted by (that I'm not already using) is the BBE Maximizer. Trying to keep my board small Bulletini>EP>Octave>Maxon Envelope>LW Delay>CC Delay>DI>PA. I haven't been using an amp for awhile but I have monsters aplenty. Of yours, and thanks for the excellent run down, I don't see much you're using that would change my sound a whole lot. Organ is cool but I'm ok with the version I get with solid octaves. You do have a few that seem to duplicate purpose but successfully so that 2-8% better is worth it. Your only modeling effect for distortion like sound is the Octave. That does work nice with the HG but past 9 o'clock by PA I can hear the square wave I don't like so I don't use it much for that. It does serve great as a volume preamp and it has some of that feedback control magic Randy stuck in there.
So I'm thinking Maximizer. I know it's a JR constant so that has me thinking too.

There are a bunch of amp & cab simulators out there now. Running one of these means you don't have to mic an amp you can plug directly into a mixer to PA system. Have you tried any of them too see how well they work with a harmonica? I was wondering if you could get some of the big amp richness without the big amp issues associated with harmonica?

I see the BBE sonic pedals on a lot of boards, and everyone keeps them on all the time, but no one explains why they use it. Any help explaining why to use sonic booster vs the sonic maximizer?

Hey! I’ll try to explain as best I can. I use the Sonic Stomp. Basically, low and high frequencies travel at different speeds and therefore arrive at the listener’s ear at different times. We can, in some situations, perceive this as a “muddiness” in the tone. The BBE pedal works to fix this problem by delaying the higher frequencies (they are faster) a bit so that they arrive at the roughly the same time as the lower frequencies (slower). I could be COMPLETELY wrong but that’s the way it’s been explained to me. I think it is EXTREMELY subtle but I do think it makes my tone slightly clearer so I do leave it always on.
BBE also makes the Sonic Maximizer which is big rack mounted contraption. It probably does a whole lot more but it really wouldn’t be practical at all for my application. The Sonic Stomp is basically a pedal version of one application of the Sonic Maximizer. Again, that’s what I’ve been told over the years.
      I hope this helps!

@@GG_Daniel that helps a lot thank you. I play mainly thru a PA, so I don’t think it’s something I need at this time. Much appreciated .

It looks like that only Harp Ocive matters to have this fat, solid harmonica sound.
