    Dude, I love your vids and all of your info helps like crazy!! I was hoping you could answer a quick question for me: When is a good time to start putting beads and wraps in2 dreads? I've had mine for almost a full year (quite successfully thanks to you) and a few dreddie homies of mine got me curious.
    Keep up the bomb vids and thanks for being so helpful!! God bless ✌

    I have a question - I have started to free-form dreadlocks now and am unsure whether twisting my hair every now and again will help it to knot quicker. I don't mean twisting it and intentionally trying to knot it, just twirling it a bit on the top, at the back, at the sides, etc, so that it will form the pattern quicker. Is it pointless or could it help? I have very thick, half wavy, half curly hair (ginger, with flecks of light brown, a few strands of random blond hairs and a few grey. Haha, my hair is literally all over the place, in all ways) so left untamed it very quickly begins to knot.
    Thanks. Peace.

    Looking good! I have a horrible shower situation too. Low flow & hard water☹️ No fun! What are you doing in Norway? How much did you cut off? Was it hard to do? I think that would be an interesting video if you ever trim them again. Happy 130 months!! ✌🏽😙💜💙❤️💚much love!!

    Hey Christian, I have a question! I free formed from the start but still had 5-6 dreads along my nape go super stiff and almost rock-hard on me. I think they somehow over tightened, as deep cleanses haven't seemed to help. Any recommendations on how to prevent/reverse over tightening?

  • @DrKjoergoe

    I've been travelling in Australia since December, the last months living in my car and bad showers are everything I have. The first month I only washed them twice because after my beautiful shower back home every other shower just feels too weak. Also I left my hood drier at home which I totally regret. Air drying takes forever, even in this abnormal heat.
    I'm at 27 months now btw

    • @LazyDreads
      @LazyDreads  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      One summer I pretty much stopped washing them for quite a while because where I was the showers we all terrible and I'd end up leaving the shower with my hair full of shampoo. It's not ideal for your hair, but you can get used to it if you need to.

    So I saw in one of your videos that rubber banding the ends of your dreads isn’t a good idea, so I took all of mine out about a week ago. But I find that I’m having to rip and twist my dreads a lot bc the ends are unraveling. Should I leave them or band them? I have thick, straight Mexican hair that doesn’t want to dread.

    Hey man, so I have had dreads for 1.5 years which I twist and ripped in. They are going pretty well, most of them at the bottom back of my head are dreaded fully, however the ones on the top of my hair are dreaded till about 3/4 of the way down at which point they just switch into straight hair which I can literally put my fingers through.
    please help!!
    MY hair is long, down to my nips and I have deep cleaned them once and was them well I think.

    Lazy Dreads i need help, i am a male, 17 and i have long hair and the sides shaved. The long hair ends at a triangle at the back of my head, I was wondering if making a dreadlock at the bottom of the back of my head would look wierd ? I would have a pony tail at the center back of my head and the 1 dreadlock underneath it. Please help

    I started my hair a couple nights ago (twist and rip and a tiny bit of back combing) but since I've done it I've noticed a lot of stray hairs that weren't initially astray. Is my hair going to keep knotting up or have i not done them tight enough. I would definitely appreciate any advice. Thanks! :>

    • @TheWonderBreadAct
      @TheWonderBreadAct 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jessica Wright just relax. Your dreads are bound to get messier and messier for a month or two before you see any real progress. You can do maintenance on them to make them more aesthetically pleasing but only time will make them more mature.

    Hi Christian! Love your channel!
    I have a question about dreadlocks. In few weaks I'm going to start my first journey and I already did a solid research (and most of it was watching your videos, they were really helpfull), but there is one thing unclear for me. I'm considering starting me locks with crochet hook. I know, that you're not so positive about crocheting, but during my research I found out, that doing crocheting only once or twice (and doing that very carefully) won't do any major harm (hope that's true). The question is: if I start my dreadlocks with the use of crochet hook, would it be necessary for me to re-crochet them later on (when the new growth shows up, for example), or I should just leave them alone, just as you said in your dreadlocks maintaince video?

    how do i clean my dreadlocks if i dont have dread shampoo or any residue free shampoo at the moment

    • @LazyDreads
      @LazyDreads  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can either use a regular shampoo and expect to have to deep clean a lot sooner, you can look for alternatives available to you (there are some soaps and washing liquids that may work depending on where you live), or you can try washing with bicarb for a short period.

  • @TheWonderBreadAct

    • @LazyDreads

      Not that often - it doesn't grow fast enough to require it often.

  • @thatyoutubechannel9953

    Just a question, my dreads (neglect, not brushing but separating when necessary) are developing in four regions due to my sleeping habits. The left, back, front and right regions. My right hair is quite fuzzy, and I have to check on them every single day to make sure they aren't doing some crazy garbage. The back is pretty much defined at this point, different sizes and shapes but altogether like halfway there honestly, and the left is pretty loose with like between three and five defined dreads (like half the width of yours in their current state and I have extremely thick hair). The front is just super loose and not good at all. I'm kind of coaxing it into three or four thinner dreads, but I'm a bit worried it will look silly. I'm not going to freak out and shave my head if they do look silly, but I'd rather try to avoid it. Do you have any suggestions, or know anyone I might ask other than you? If this is word soup, I apologize and I'll clarify if you ask.

      @MrMyzable 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really sure what you're asking. Sounds like you're doing the freeform method and yet you worry about how it will look. Well, it's going to look horrible the first year or so. Different for everyone. Just got to get over the stage where they form on their own. Then start thinking about how it looks on you.

    Why did you move to Norway? Your dreads looks amazing, I've had mine for alittle over 4 months and I have been using DollyLocks for the past month. I totally love it and I love the smell. I have a question,my dreads are so loopy and I got a ton of loose hair. I tried using sea salt spray but I noticed I have itchy scalp from it. I have made myself hats that helps a bunch and I crochet them using wool. How do you control your frizzy hair? Lol you rock

    • @rmn3399
      @rmn3399 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Katt Medeiros patience. The frizzy hait will disappeare in the lock after some time. I have a lot of frizzy hair too, but they start to dissappear more and more. But dont stop to maintain them😂

    • @kittykatt67
      @kittykatt67 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      rmn lol yeah only maintaining I do is wash and separate ;-) at least I know they are doing what they are supposed to.

    • @denicahuffman6211
      @denicahuffman6211 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just leave them shower regularly wash with a good shampoo like good soap soap bar or dr bronners and the spray is drying your scalp your guna get flakes your patients and shampoo are everything. If you really don't like the loops pull them on with a hook but I dont recommend. They will go away eventually there are phases with dreadlocks you just have to embrace the suck sometimes.

    • @kittykatt67
      @kittykatt67 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Denica Huffman I actually love the loops lol I have been using DollyLocks nag champa shampoo for over a month now and I love it...my hair is normally thick and curly plus I started my locs using the rip and twist method so I figure that's why I have all the loops :-) thanks for all the good advice

    • @denicahuffman6211
      @denicahuffman6211 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Katt Medeiros I have not tried that shampoo. But when you find what you like and works for you stick with it.

    Ugh I cut my dreadlocks a few months the ago after 4 years my second set. They were long and naturally neat. I regret that choice so-so much. Starting over now. I think I'm guna start them and use my dreads as extensions yikes. 😲 Don't cut your dreadlocks dreadlock havers!

      Kjoergoe don't do it believe me. I am still sad about it. I started dreading it again today. But still won't replace what I had. It's more the dedication ya know. And the natural length they were long no extension. (My sad face here). I will not make that mistake again.
