      Hollywood seems to think, the 2WW is still ongoing and "black propaganda" to smear the enemy must go on endlessly. Germans (and Japanese) must be played extremely evil, bloodthirsty, but also dumb and ridiculous. Movies made in Sixties were absolutely the best - "Tora, Tora, Tora", "Battle for Britain", "The Eagle has landed"

    • @andrewstrongman305
      @andrewstrongman305 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tbolt2378 Actually, part of the problem faced by movie-makers is that WW2 language has never been allowed. The Japanese were "the Japs", Germans were "Jerries" , Italians were "Eyeties".
      "Tora, Tora, Tora" and "Battle for Britain" were fortunate to have plenty of original aircraft to use, but budget constraints have usually resulted in obvious mock-ups in place of real vehicles, particularly German tanks.

    Before Dawn, was filmed entirely in Western Australia.
    The director is a friend of mine and I am even listed in the credits.
    Jordon Prince-Wright the Director/Producer used over $1 million worth of explosives, ( when set off they even were recorded on the Richter scale for earthquake, such was the force of the explosions.)
    All firearms are real and nothing was plastic.
    Where it was wet and muddy it was real, it was made on site on a farming property at Esperance, where the farmer donated his property and even helped dig the trenches.
    It was based on factual diaries from local identities.
    There was nothing fake about it, except where changes to dialogue were set to create a storyline.

      I thought Masters of the Air was good. The amount of comp footage vs. CGI was fairly impressive knowing how few forts and 109s there are. The one entry I'd love to see is 'Before Dawn'. One of the first truly classic movies made by Australian cinema was 'Gallipoli', which remains a benchmark. Australian diggers earned a reputation on the Western Front that is celebrated even today by the French. Of our 60,000 killed in the 'Great War', most fell in France. It's something that's more important to us than cheesy, flag-waving, and I trust that this movie is as realistic as possible. 'Danger Close' realistically portrayed the Battle of Long Tan only a few years ago. I expect no less from 'Before Dawn'.

      I don't think it's a TV, though I'm not sure what it is. It may be a radio combined with a record player. However, TVs would have been very expensive at that time and that doesn't look like a rich person's house.

Some other WW1 films are Passchendaele, The Lost Battalion and The Red Baron. Passchendaele is about the Canadian Expeditionary Forces at the battle of Passchendaele, however it's more of a war romance similar to Peral Harbor. Learn how to at least pronounce the German language.... The name is Dietrich Bohnhoffer, said as"Deetrick Bohnherffer". (in German the name Dietrich has an 'ie' ipronounced as an ee' and 'Vorbei' with an 'ei' is [pronounced as an an "eye"... 'Hoffer' (with the umlaut - the double dots above the o, sorry I do not know the correct keyboard shortcut for that.), is closer to 'herffer' but spelt as Hoeffer in English. There a lot of tricky pronunciations for English speakers, besides those....

    For the United States , World War two started when the fascist empire of Japan bombed Hawaii on a Sunday morning, not one of these moves is about world war two in the Pacific - Woke liberals ignore the war with Japan because they do not want to depict Caucasians fighting Asians - for every 10 world war two movies 8 are about Europe and 2 are about the actual conflict that plunged America into the war - The Japanese bombed the United States , not the Nazis - The top 10 war movies on Netflix are also only about Europe -
