I was at this show. I threatened my mother that if she didn't go to Harmony house and stand in line at Ticketmaster, I was going to skip school and get the tickets myself. This was unlike me, she took me seriously, stood in line and bought me 2 tickets. I stayed in school and got to see the Cure in their prime. Just registered for tickets for Pine Knob for June of 2023. Simply amazing band. Always there when I needed them in my darkest hour.....Robert's "hour" was always darker and I loved that someone could relate to what I was feeling at the time.....will love this band forever. I am now 48. I was 16 when my mom bought the tix for me. Where has the time gone?
I was at this concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills MI, with my wife and daughter in the womb. She still says to this to day, she was technically at the concert.
Saw them the same year, 1992, at the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, Illinois. They played 3 encores with a total of 29 songs. Was such a fantastic concert!
I took acid the night I watched this whole VHS tape for 8 hours thinking Boris was the best drummer in the world. To this day, I love this particular concert still. I have seen them live after this but this is my favorite. Long live this lineup.
This song is pure MAGICK. "Magic" is mere stage antics. "Magick" is actualization, REALIZATION. "We're going to be here forever and NEVER say Goodbye..." OUR TENURE IN THE MULTIVERSE....IN THE "ETERNAL NOW."
Perry Bamonte is a really underrated factor when it comes to The Cure’s live show. The extra layer of guitar is so massive in songs like Open from this tour, and when he needs to play the keys, like in this one, he can. It’s not to knock Roger, who is a virtuoso, but Perry really deserves a lot of recognition.
Perry's guitar work - the texture and tone he uses to fill out the sound - absolutely epic. I've seen every Cure lineup from 1992-2019 live - really would like to see the current one with Perry in it again.
@@zoeherriotWhen Perry did this in the 95-96 live versions, has this haunting sound as if the song is fading in and out with the changing ocean breeze and integrates with the other instruments. 1992 Porl... guitar just stands out from the rest of the instruments and has so much energy. On most days, I prefer Perry. I guess the word is... temperance.
Saw them twice on this tour, warm up at the Royal Court, Liverpool, then full on arena at the NEC Birmingham late to the year. Awesome. Cranes in support, fantastic.
I saw this tour with my best friends from high school. In Adealide south australia. We were 19, and massive cure fans, still am. @ of the 5 of us that went together that night has passed away. So when I saw the cure again in 2016 with my wife after all those years and the passing of 2 of my best friends is was incredibly emotional. Thanks so much for the amazing music and memories THE CURE.
When Porl/Pearl was in the band, he took the whole thing to a different level. I LOVE the 2005 festival live with him, Simon, Bob and Jason. Massive rock with no keys.
their best video. sound, video production, lineup, and time frame _Roger O'Donnell wrote a large piece of this record. A good portion of WISH is from out-takes of disintegration sessions. He is more core to the band than people mostly realize.
Fr when Perry and Roger ‘left’ or whatever happened and Pearl came back. It was weird tbh, dont get me wrong i think he’s my fave Cure guitarist. He looks soooo effing cool, is a savage player. But like Roger is a legend and it seems he’s often over looked which is a shame, without him Disintegration would not be considered one of the greatest albums of all time.
A minha adolescência foi maravilhosa ouvindo a recém banda The Cure lançada no Brasil com amigos inesquecíveis será para sempre uma referência da nossa época ❤
The Cure played 3 sold out shows at the Palace of Auburn Hills on this tour where this was filmed. I was at the last night. I took a girl that was really into them, and The Cure to me were more of a guilty pleasure, I was pretty much a metalhead, but I did enjoy their music in certain moods. I took her to dinner before the concert, I got excellent seats and a nice hotel room close to the The Palace the night of the show, so we didn't have to drive 1.5 hours back home. She showed her gratitude immensely that night and blew my mind, among other body parts. Every time I hear The Cure, I think of that cute trippy strange girl that loved this band.
nice. memories permanently baked into specific songs/concerts. the cure is my fav band but have no Cure/girl stories in the past 30+ years. unlike The Lemon Song was playing when the girl I started seeing was high and sitting on my lap pulled her top off so I could get my first handful of tiddies. she was a total led head. in the '80s remember every moment except her last name
I think this is the best line-up The Cure has ever had, including Boris, Porl and Perry.
, fast forward to 1995 and that lineup did I great Job also on this same song.. Love em all. #Cure
I agree
I'd swap Perry for Roger myself
Dumbass comment lmao you could’ve just left it at ‘best line-up’ and not go on to name half the band, you imbecile.
Without porl and Boris the cure would have been very good, maybe even hall of fame still. But with them they reached stratospheric heights
One of the most underrated Cure anthems. Pure psychedelic trance.
Exactamente
Puro psychodelic trance
Saludos desde guadalajara México!!!
Me: Why was I so obsessed with music as a teenager in the 90's?
Robert Smith: Let me refresh your memory
Your words refreshes my memory!
Thanks a lot.
They were at the top of their game. This is the best song on Wish.
TOP TOP TOP, totally agree!
It’s shocking how good they are live… sublime 🖤
Saw this tour and it was unbelievable. They played for 3+ hours. Sounded incredible
Saw them in ATL at the old Omni for this tour.... Curve opened up... It was incredible

ditto saw them in Australia
what doesn't come through on the videos is the sound of Boris' drums
@@Lupi33z and that feeling of Simon's bass pounding in your chest. Like you FELT it.

how very amazing to have been there! Worth gold.
Pearl literally made this track come to life..Boris, that drumming...I felt like I was right there in the crowd...amazing!!
I was lucky enough to see that solo live - and it was even more epic.
One of the best live versions, wow!
My absolute favorite song by them. A complete banger for sure.
I think this could be my favourite clip of a live performance. They all just look proper cool and the tune is an absolute banger!!
Pearl was awesome!!! WOW.
What a fantastic live band.. The Cure is so epic!
What a solo!!!!!!! Porl killing it
Totally Insane. Pure Energy pure power. Perfection. Who could believe that song could be played with this high intensity.
the lyrics 🖤
Me. It's amazing.
I was at this show ☺
What a gem of musical genius.
My favorite Cure song.
Saw them the same year, 1992, at the World Music Theatre in Tinley Park, Illinois. They played 3 encores with a total of 29 songs. Was such a fantastic concert!
That’s not too far from where I live! I would’ve killed to see them on the Wish tour but I wasn’t born yet.
I saw them in Miami in March 96 when I was a senior in high school. Changed my life.
This is the best version. Not too slow like some of the other vids

@@thebluelunarmonkey There is definitely something about Perry's tone that is captivating. I have to agree.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤FOREVER! I'm a "Curist" since 1980 now and i'll always love you!
this song take miles ,miles, miles and miles far away from home again
Saw them in St. Louis on this tour. This was a very good rendition of a very powerful song.
Saw them twice on this tour, warm up at the Royal Court, Liverpool, then full on arena at the NEC Birmingham late to the year. Awesome. Cranes in support, fantastic.
I saw them in Newcastle on the Wish warm up tour, and recently last December in Leeds, absolutely superb.
Best line up of the band and incredible live version of this song.

Man, Porl (or Pearl) was on fire here! God bless him and the rest of the guys. What a band.
Porl is a beast! I love how he’s completely lost in the music here
Or Paul............
When Porl/Pearl was in the band, he took the whole thing to a different level. I LOVE the 2005 festival live with him, Simon, Bob and Jason. Massive rock with no keys.
uff what a lineup, AMAZING!!
Porl's guitar play effortless...awesome!
Minha musica preferida. S2
sensational vocals to a spectacular song!
It’s hypnotic
Porl/Pearl unleashed. Robert's voice was incredible at this point. Loved loved loved this version.
Greatest line up and.. well in this case VHS concert of all time in my opinion.
The best live version of this song!
easily one of their best deep cuts. i love this song.

My favourite and those lyrics
This makes me cry.
💔
It's just rain
Brushing your tears away
Absolutely. The. Cure. Touched my heart,so true
Hypnotized... that Gibson make faint always... and again.

Just stumbled on this live version....Robert Smith sounds as good as he did in San Jose in '92.
Robert smith’s a genius. These are fkin hypnotic. ❤
my favourite cure song, i always go in a trance
Savage performance! ♥️

Perfect.

Épico! Simplesmente perfeito!🤘🏽🔥🇧🇷
Это шедевр!!!
Mind blown!
Lo que daría por haber podido vivir en vivo un espectáculo como este.

It’s just rain, she smiled. Lyrics of this track got me through some pretty shitty relationship stuff in my youth
love this!

I remember seeing these guys at a festival, i lost my girl friend and i didn't give a shit!

I love porl's playin but their present guitar player Reeves Gabrels is a fucking beast
Pearl Thompson will always be The Cures guitar player to me
hands down, Boris was the best drummer
Indeed
Porl is awesome!!
Has anyone seen a you tube version of this with 3 or 4 guitarists? please reply with link, I think was in US in 90s
agreed
2022
I wish they would re-edit the original with this version of the song it captures the lyrics in a much more realistic way.
👍👍👍🔨🔨🔨♥️♥️♥️🔥
