Oh my god. OH MY GOODNESS. This is the most helpful video ever, I cannot thank you enough- I have been struggling for barre chords for so long and i've just realised that it was my poor posture that made it virtually impossible so THANK YOU AAAAAAAA
I've been struggling with Bm for WEEKS and all I was getting was muting and hand cramp (after I realised to move my thumb down for support) but that tip for using the side of my index instead of the front is a game changer! Just tried it and it played beautifully. Thank you! Just a beginner but it was so frustrating that I couldn't get it at all.
thank you! Very helpful. I was having trouble with B flat 7. It helped when i used my ring finger on the 2nd fret instead of my middle finger. Then I could add extra pressure with the middle finger on top of the index to bar.

Thanks! Great video. I was muting strings every time I tried to play barre chords. No tutorials were helping til I saw this. A string was always in a groove on the other side of my knuckle.
barre chords are the thing that i struggle a lot with when playing. i’m starting to play songs with the barre shapes of regular chords for practice. thanks for the video, it was super helpful :)
that little sidenote about the thumb pressing against the back is actually very very helpful! I don't know why it didn't occur to me, but it's so much easier for me to play barre chords this way! It completely changed my sound
:O the tip to roll your index finger back is a amazing! I couldn't pull of a Bm chord w/o hitting extra strings with my ring finger until I tried your method. THANK YOU!

Thank you so much I can now play barre chords. It was actually quite easy for me even though I haven’t been playing a year yet. Although the barre chords with both the middle and ring finger are a bit tricky I’ll get them soon

You can do it! Barre chords can be difficult at the beginning even if you have long fingers. It just takes practice:)
