The more ways you have to detect people, the more false bans you’ll get. Reaction time tracking would be easily circumvented by just weighing down ur average, or false ban prefiring, etc.. There’s always going to be a victim of lag spikes, or cheaters just tuning down the cheaters to get an advantage whilst not being obvious. As for hiring real people to watch live gameplay, you need to have game sense and experience in the game to differentiate between really good players and actual cheaters, specially for things like esp. Also, latency and spectator mode sucking are a thing. At the end of the day, cheating in Fortnite isn’t a big deal, it only really affects the game in tournaments where it delegitimizes the competitiveness. Cheaters getting into and winning tournaments is the price Epic pays for having that pipeline for skilled players being able to break into the competitive scene. Otherwise you could just have prize money only for LANs, and cheating is easily stopped at LANs. But since they want new talent to be able to make a name for themselves, they need online tournaments, which are much harder to keep cheater free. They could withhold earnings until a LAN performance, and host more regional LANs, but that’s a lot of money and time, and people wouldn’t be as drawn to competing, since the money is further out of their hands. As for cheaters in ranked/ non tournament play, just move them into a separate cheater only queue instead of banning them, or do banwaves. A cheater only queue lets them have their fun, while wasting their time before they realize it’s all cheaters and bots, and keeps other players’ experience from being ruined. Banwaves can help create problems for cheat devs (if all your customers get banned all at once, and start asking for refunds, or just straight up calling fraud on the transactions, you’re pretty much done). All they need to do is make banwaves happen within the period that people can chargeback. It’s a normal practice in competitive gaming, since it also obscures which update to the cheat is what got them detected. It makes the devs lose their credibility once all their customers are busted too.
One of the players on the leaderboard that was blurred went from a 3.92 kd ratio season 4 chapter 5 to a 16 kd ratio in og chapter 2. The other player went from a 6.9 kd in season 4 chapter 5 to a 14.1 kd in chapter 2 og.
when dma was first recognized if people actually go to some profiles and see the pr certain people were not known until a year later certain pros went from 1k pr to 100k pr in a year funny enough this was the same year dma was getting popular
I think you’re right about your thoughts on cheaters Aussie but I think there are some other more psychological reasons for cheaters on Fortnite as well. I think there are a bunch of Kids on Fortnite who actually love the game a lot, and they would do anything to play with the pros. To feel what it’s like to be in a set lobby, or god forbid grands. I’m sure the majority are doing it for money or clout, but I can imagine there is a solid base of cheaters who don’t have the skill to play in the big leagues but are desperate to do so. I’m always surprised how mechanical a lot of cheaters are. They clearly enjoy the game.
If epic started tracking response time, the cheat devs would just add an additional or randomized delay to the triggerbot. Then its fully bypassed once again

I’m my past 4 games I’ve ran into 16 cheaters I killed 10 of them and reported all and they all eventually got banned I played a week ago and I just got the msg today that they were banned
The thing is you can actually choose your response time for triggerbot and cheats like a 130ms response time for triggerbot and a very high smoothing so that as long as you have good crosshair placement you aren't snapping and its almost like legit cheating thats the one thing i feel like wouldn't work that timmy suggested, the response time

If it were that easy, they would. Cheats are being updated daily to get past Easy Anti-Cheat, Riot Vanguard, etc. Epic knows this and won’t actually ban people right away. They’ll wait until a certain time or amount of people using the cheat, then ban them all in a “wave” this is so the cheaters don’t know exactly what they did that got them banned since it could be many variables. Sorry for the long post just trying to give a little more insight.

Some fact from a person who was an admin/moderator in older FPS/TPS multiplayer who spectated and banned cheaters in real time. Cheat sellers don't talk to content creators, they pay easily manipulated, bad actors to talk to trash content creators so they are never exposed, and the trash content creators the paid actors speak to must already be a trusted member of the cheating community before they are even considered to be used to promote the fact that cheat sellers are still selling cheats which only encourages whales from those content creators communities to seek out the cheats in question adding more fodder to the cheat community for cheat sellers to test cheats on, and manipulate/steal accounts, personal information and more from. We said what we said. 🖕 cheaters and 🖕cheat sellers, and 🖕the trash content creators shilling them to their community whales.
