  • At the age of seventeen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) composed a three-movement motet for solo voice and orchestra entitled Exultate, jubilate, K. 165 (“Rejoice, Be Glad”). The Latin text (whose poet is unknown) of the first two movements beckons all “blessed souls” to sing praises along with the heavens and earth for the peace of Jesus Christ which has come to the righteous, “who were hitherto in fear” but now arise joyfully. This last movement ornately punctuates the message with one final word: “Alleluia!”

This is beautiful! I really love Mozart. My favorite composer and also a fun and funny person. His letters are so full of life, humor, and exuberance -- they're extremely fun to read.

And the farts resound with thunderous might."
