Good vids. Enjoy them. The original ‘74 SVT prototype featured a Nord VPN loop. It worked reasonably well in terms of encryption but ultimately the two-decade latency was deemed impractical. Anyway good vids.
Hello from San Diego! I just discovered your channel and was happy to see you have quite a few videos dissecting Ampegs. Did you ever post part 2 of this amp service? I have a '69 blue line so it was cool to see the inside of these guys. Cheers from a new subscriber and thanks for posting all the honest videos.
I was given a ‘75 recently as “payment” for refurbishing a vintage guitar. I reaaaallly want to crank it up in the studio but it’s got a few suspicious bugs and I am nowhere near competent enough to try and work on it (guitars, yes; amps, no). I guess I need to start budgeting for a repair 😂💰💰💰
Darn, I was hoping to find Part 2 or so on to the end for this amp. Though I can't handle moving them around anymore, I love SVTs--I know, who doesn't--and I'd like to know more about them.
I have to say you are the Twoofrd of Amp repair. Excellent bedside manner, and the knowledge to back it up.
“VPNs and all that BS” - I clicked the like button and bell just for that comment.
Cool. I learned a bit more on each of these videos.
Finally an amp with a rear access panel.
Always wanted this model ❤

Great video
Six power tubes in a row... a thing of beauty.
Thank you for this! There's very few old svt vids on youtube that go through and explain the inner workings this well. Looking forward to part 2!

It's coming. I'm replacing all the can caps with discrete radials (will explain in that video). It takes time.
@@PsionicAudio Cool. I look forward to that. Thank you.
Are those 6550 tubes buckled in?!
Now that’s a tshirt !
