This is the third time they've released this character and they are getting better with paint apps but they've never quite nailed the likeness. This looks more like theo von the comedian but the first release by them and viva studio came with a great base with two crocs, so they should have included at least a parrot or something. Terrible body definitely switch it for a m31 and think it will be descent. Sometimes its good to share bad experiences to warn others what they are letting themselves in for.

Just need to get a couple of M31 bodies, as Im having plans for a few other project that needs the same body type as well. Apart from the obvious shit body on this figure, and the lack of animal accessories, I really think that head sculpts face expression is wrong for the character. They could have done one of his funny faces for this one, or at least provided with a second head option. On top of that! The head sculpt looks like his in his 60’s. Man, there is so much wrong with this figure, dude 😂 Its the first and last Asmus figure I’ll ever get, I’ll tell you that much 😅

Well… The outfit is good. The accessories are good. The seamless arms are crap. The head sculpt looks like Jim Carrey in his 60’s. Bloated and rough sculpt. The stand is okey for what it is. The body is good enough, and its nice that the seamless arms were just an addition to the figure, and not its only option. The fact that they didn’t include any sort of animals, such as a little monkey or even a couple of birds with the figure, is a huge miss in my book, considering the character. Even the packaging was terrible. The box art was okey, but too much of a straight up copy of the movie cover. The way I see it, I’ll have to look for a better Ace Ventura head and swap out the body, as well as finding some suitable animals. So all in all I’d give the package a 4 out of 10. There is just to many misses on this Asmus Toys offering, in my honest opinion. I mean… I’ve seen some of their Lords Of The Rings figures, and the head sculpt wasn’t good enough on them either, again in my opinion. I’ve seen people swap out their heads for rooted hair versions that makes the figure look so much better. Asmus Toys is just a no go company for 1/6th collectibles as far as Im conserned to be perfectly honest. I would simply not recommend them at all. I wish that I didn’t fall for my love for the actual character when I decided to get this figure.
It was like this product had a tornado of problems. First, I don't like what the postal service did to your box. That was unforgivable really. That was like they banged it into everything they could OR the person/distributer who sent it to you didn't take time to package it well. Whoever is at fault . . . shame on them. Second, both set of arms are really bad. When I saw the balls of the arms, I went, "It's not smooth . . . what's going on with that?" That's just sloppy. Still, you managed to pose him nicely. I wasn't expecting to see business cards, but you're right . . . I would have rather have had a "pet" of some form. Thank you for doing a review on this one. I would never get it as a result. Sigh.
Yeah, this figure did not fare well in transit or in production, in my opinion. As far as I can see, the only thing that looks great here is the outfit and accessories. Both the body and head sculpt is crap really. As far as the condition of the packaging goes… Well… If you’ve seen the movie, then you’d think that the figure was delivered by Ace Ventura himself LOL.
It's a shame Asmus don't put as much effort into this figure compared to their Lord of the Rings figures. It's an easy pass when the quality is this average.
I fully agree with you. With the quality being such a huge hit or miss with this company, then I’ll never buy a figure from them again. The LOTR figures look great, but I’ve heard stories about the head sculpt on them as well. A lot of people are getting 3rd party custom heads for those figures.

That head sculpt is a little rough! Shame the likeness seems to be difficult for them to get right!
A little? Jim Carrey was 31 when he first starred as Ace Ventura. The Asmus head sculpt looks like he was a bloated 60 year old 😂
