Richard Alvarado what is your problem? Music can be very inspirational and apparently it is for that person. don't hate on that person because they love it
Pay attention to where this is performed and the narrative of the song, the very ill fitting timings, theres a lot going on here. Pretty dark stuff but very beautiful also. I've been a musician most of my life and ill say without doubt this man cannot be beat. He is everything, all at once, incredible.
Saw this dude live at the pheonix in Toronto in december 2014. Guy broke his fucking bottom guitar string. (not sure what it's called) and he just hummed the notes he was missing. Shit was epic as fuck. I don't fanboy over very many artists but this dude earned my attention. So I'm proud to be his fanboy!

Shakey has easily transitioned into my favorite (all time) musician. I listen to him literally every single day, and have been doing so for over 4 year. He is an amazing musician, and I strive to be as clean as he is with his music. I was fortunate enough to watch him live in Eugene, OR, a couple years ago, and it was the best concert I've ever been to. Shakes Graves is a 21 century live born for TH-cam artist. He is can only truly be experienced live you are meant to watch and feel him play his songs as much as you are supposed to listen to them. So many of his songs the best versions are all live jam sessions on TH-cam the audiotree sessions are just one example, another is when he does pandora with Esme. He gives me hope for American folk.
I feel every self proclaimed artist should really appreciate such a raw form of a dying breed of music keep up the great music shakey much appreciated!

Goddamn! Why on earth do this man's albums not sound like his live performances?! So many musicians cannot pull off live what they manage with the help of an expensive studio and all the "help" that comes with it - Shakey seems not to manage to convey the brilliance of his live playing in his albums somehow... Anyone know where I can get my hands on live recordings of his?
I've been putting his live stuff into a website that turns youtube videos into MP3 or whatever format you use. I edit the length and take out the talking and then the good stuff is mine. Google youtube into MP3.

Sebastian David Kraemer there's actually 3 different time signatures in this! The main song alternates between 7/4 (verse) and 5/4 (chorus), and then the outro goes into 4/4; quite impressive for a folk song
Wow, first time hearing this song. Beautiful He came to my hometown, somewhere in northern Ontario.. I only got to see the end of his show.. Roll the bones. Maybe one day, he will come back.
