Excellent video, thanks. Time to do my 300K mile Frontier.
Wouldn't it be nice if every differential had a drain plug? What a bright idea.
That would be nice!
dat japanese lifestyle
You didn't include a link to purchase the crush washer
Just did my transfer case and transmission fluid this weekend. If you have the 4X4 you use the 75W - 140 for the rear differential.
What year do you have. Owners manual says 75w-90 on my 2014
@@blairbreaks9521 2019 V6 4X4
@cyberknife82 mines says 75-90 for automatic with 4x4 oh you must have the 6 speed Manuel
I had an oil change recently and they told me that I needed this done.
You had a lot of room to work in there. That was nice for filming. So many people never think about the drive train. Nicely done Brian.
🙂 Loved the video and bought a 10mm and 14mm hex key to do the job as you suggested. Unfortunately, once I got under my Frontier it has SQUARE holes for the plugs. Don't know why my Frontier is different. Fortunately, the holes are close enough to 1/2 inch that I was able to use my half inch drive ratchet handles and the change went smoothly. Maybe someday I will find a use for the two keys I bought and cannot return.
great video please keep the frontier videos coming thax
Well done and clearly described video. Nice job.
What size was the crush washer? I don't see it in the comments, thanks.
Nice video. It looks a lot easier than I thought.
Very good video. Sadly the Frontier I'm working on requires a square bit. 😂
It’s always something. Thank you for watching!
My brother-in-law had a nice 1999 F150 he used for towing for his mechanic business and on the highway his differential totally effed up. I need to do this to my Nissan Frontier before such mistake.
Thanks for the heads up , I was wondering regular or syn gear oil...!
Very clear and informative thanks
Thank you for watching!
At 90k, should i just leave trans oil and rear diff oil alone? Is it too late or should i do both still now ? Never been done before and use truck as daily driver. No off road or super hard driving
I'm not a mechanic, but I would change the diff fluid and do a series of dump and fills with the trans.
Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated.
Great video. Thank you
Excellent advice
Thank you for watching!
What is the year make and model of this Frontier?
Thanks, great video!
Super quick, great vid!
SVTake2 thank you for watching!
GREAT HOW TO VIDEO !!!!!
MADE IT JUST LIKE CHRISFIX VIDEO ?
Fill plug REMOVE 1ST💥💯
Thank you for this vid
Does the front differential take the same oil?
My 2006 manual 6 speed has what looks like a 1/2” or 12-13mm square not hexagon plugs ?
Thank you
The magnet on end of my drain plug was snapped off and laying on bottom of pan! I had to take cover off to retrieve!
That’s crazy I’ve never seen that.
How often would I do this on a Nissan Frontier Pro-4X?
Normal use once a year.
@@HowtoAutomotive thank you for the video. I just changed the breather. I might as well change the oil too. 13 Pro4x has has been too good to me.
Thanks dude
Cure time?
i drained my diff and the oil was like chocolate milk. I dont do any off roading or driving in deep water. Any idea how water may have got in. I installed a new vent extended into the rear tail light with a filter on the end just to avoid water.
The only way for water I’m oyster to get in there is through the vent on top of the differential. The hose is probably missing.
Are crush washers universal?
GL5 ?
No torque specs?
DO THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FOR A 2010 NISSAN FRONTIER HAVE A DIFFERENTIAL GEAR ? AND WILL I CHANGE IT THE SAME WAY IF SO ?
All rear wheel drive vehicles have differentials buddy!
