From what I understand, the goal is to let Kelleher leave (he's wanted to leave since the spring of 2023 and I think we've been really lucky to keep him this long) so he can get the first choice goalkeeper role he wants elsewhere while Mamardashvili becomes the understudy/domestic cup keeper instead until Alisson moves on. I don't think the goal is for Mamardashvili to start as first choice immediately, Alisson (as injury prone as he is) is still very obviously going to play over Mamardashvili if both are available.

Does sound valid but it's still likely Mamardashvilli will be the 1st Choice when we reach 2026?

Too expensive and high profile. We never go for these players
