Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi, the 13th-century mystic poet, was truly one of the most passionate and profound poets in history. Now, today his presence still remains strong, due in part to how his words seem to drip of the divine, and startle a profound remembrance that links all back to the Soul-Essence.

Dancing in ecstasy you go,
my soul of souls.
Don’t go without me.
Laughing with your friends,
you enter the garden.

The two worlds are joyous because of you.

Moonlight reveals the sky’s bright face.

Rumi created his poems from out of deep quietness and attention that enabled the quiet voice of the Devine to be heard in his heart.
Rumi's quiet meditations allowed the Devine to speak into into him and Rumi being generous was able to record those words for us.
When we hear Rumi's poetry we are sharing in a near religious experience. You should also listen to "Don't Sleep" also by Rumi.

Rumi's poetry is very penetrating. As such it may affect us in different ways. You may be crying for several reasons, I would guess that his poetry has touched somewhere inside you that you had tried to hide. But the truth in his poem has moved you in a sublime way, turning on the tap of your heart and releasing you. Maybe...?

Everytime I hear your voice, The Beloved descends into my room. I never know if He comes from outside or from my heart. All I know is that the space becomes magic somehow

I would appreciate this. Hafez and Saadi are harder to interpret the true meaning in English. There is metaphor, play on words, lost in translation. I think if a native speaker made the video they could find artistic ways to help English speakers understand the meaning and feeling. (I understand these poems best listening to Iranians talk about them.)

Beautiful!!! I was lucky enough to see a Rumi exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY City.tears ago, with his original manuscripts, artifacts, belongings, and much more. I wasn’t very familiar with him then, may not have ever heard of him at that point. As my awareness of him and love for his poetry grew, I was so grateful to have had that experience.
