He really is, his voice is so calming most of the time its funny to swe him be so animated when speaking, maybe its just because he knows the cameras on in alot of situations, but theres definitely some mannerisms that he shows when telling a story.
This game was amazing to 8 year old me. The amount of exploration this game encourages was absolutely amazing back then. Absolutely a GB essential for anyone looking for something to play on the platform... besides Pokemon.

Recently replayed this on my Anbernic rg351v (Gameboy shaped emulation handheld) and the nostalgia was so overwhelming, I remember it taking me years to get all the treasures hidden throughout the game, it is a criminally underrated gem. Looks great in full colour!
It's fun to realize now as an adult how much darker Wario is than Mario, like there are human skulls and the music sounds much more foreboding. You can really see where they tried to take Wario in the beginning before he became the funny fart man we have today.
Nah, he's always been a funny fart man, even as early as Mario Land 2 and this game as well. Maybe not literally, but he's always had that certain slapstick aura. Because Wario is inherently a goofy character, his games are able to have darker elements while maintaining an overall light-hearted tone. The atmosphere can get more foreboding, but the main character will always have that stupid grin on his face throughout. Mario is more of a blank-slate character, which is why they don't really go dark with his games, because there's no underlying tone to lighten the mood. Mario 64 is arguably the darkest that the mainline Mario series has ever been, probably because its artstyle and visual design is the least 'Mario-like' of any game, so its occasional darker elements are amplified.
Mark Mothersbaugh hasn't ever said he hated Weird Al, just that he was jealous of how Al got the synths to sound on "Dare To Be Stupid". He talked about it in a documentary and he sounds extremely pensive about it in the funniest way.

I have some minor audio delay on my bluetooth headphones, so Vinny's webcam actually synced up perfectly with that delay, while the game had audio lag instead. I got the secret experience.
In regards to the Prince thing - I worked at a Hollywood Video in Chanhassen, MN, where Prince's recording studio is, and he'd come in late at night sometimes to rent a movie (with one or two bodyguards, of course). We were legit told not to make eye contact with him, though on the second of two occasions he came in while I was working, he gave me a nod on their way out. Never said anything, but hard to say if that whole eye contact thing was just something his team of assistants told people to intimidate them, or if he actually requested that to be the case. Probably both.
Crazy to me the same developers worked on this and Metroid 2. Then the same thing happened again for Wario Land 4 and Metroid Fusion. Wish they would make more games in the same pixel style, such a great era.
I hope this makes people try wario land games. they are all unique and all of them defies genre. such a shame Nintendo isn't using Wario to experiment more .
Wario Lands 2 and 3 are so criminally underrated. Genuinely some of the best hidden gems on the GBC. Collecting coins actually means something, awesome level design, catchy music, and tons of secrets and different endings.
Agreed, I especially like how in the future games they ditch the powerup system and instead have Wario go through different transformations by physical abuse. IE get crushed to turn into "Flat Wario", touch a ghost to turn into "Zombie Wario" etc.

Fucking love Wario Land 1. For some reason, it was always a summer-vibe kind of game to me (especially in its original, monochrome style).
Funny, I always imagined Kitchen Island being grey and foggy, maybe due to the monochrome. I think the DX version captures that quite nicely too!
