Scar's death was actually inspired by a discarded ending of *Beauty and the Beast* where Gaston actually survived his fall from the Beast's castle with a broken leg all the while limping into the forest where he was ambushed by the wolf pack inhabiting the woods and was torn apart by said wolves.
Well to be fair... both princesses are known for their kindness and beauty, they were both cursed into mystical comas performed by enraged evil sorceresses who take their anger out on the princess instead of whatever they are really mad at. Both the princesses are awakened from her spell by true love's kiss by the princes they encounter while they are singing songs about wishes and dreams and finding true love, for an audience of forest animal friends. The princes even take part after stumbling on to the girls singing these songs. Both run into older women that they don't feel threatened by, one selling apples the other working on spinning wheel and she beckons the girl to come closer and she will show her how to spin. Although I think the last part only happens in the book versions.
Every one of the Disney stories based on Grimm tales have such dark origins. Cinderella's sister's cutting off their toes and heel to fit in the slipper and the stepmother being blinded by birds. Ariel, feeling like she was walking on knives & committing su***de. Pinocchio, although not a Grimm tale (written by Carlo Collodi), being hanged in a tree. And the darkest of all, Sleeping Beauty and how she woke up. Those who don't know 🤔 Those who know 😮
10:19 You know what's really dark about the original story of "Snow White"? It's the fact that in the original story, Snow White is only SEVEN YEARS OLD when she's declared the fairest one of all!
also with the true story of the little mermaid, her sisters loved her so much they pleaded with the sea nymphs, so the sea nymphs turned her into one of them, or sea foam, one or the other
The only time plot armor truly exists is when its really really bad bad writing. That _Toy Story 3_ moment was three movies in the making. It was _not by any means_ bad writing.
The original Little Mermaid ACTUALLY had the sea witch make another deal with said mermaid to k*ll the prince or she (the mermaid) would turn into seafoam. The mermaid couldn't bring herself to do it so she jumped into the water & turned into seafoam. Making the ending EVEN WORSE.

You want some of the darkest line from a Disney movie how about Brother Bear. That whole scene where Kenai tells Koda that he is going to tell him a story and it’s kind of about a man and kind of about a bear but mostly it’s about a monster. Then he tells the story while the song plays and Koda tells him that he doesn’t like the story and then Kenai tells him that his mother isn’t coming. Very dark and sad all at the same time.
21:40 there is deeper manning behind this. King candy tells Ralph to tell Venelope that if she goes to the race she could die. If you watch the movie it will make more sense
Dang I had forgotten that dark Nemo theory, it definitely makes sense for most of it. You can argue everyone who meets Marlin is just going along with his illusion. The only odd ones out are the fish tank gang, unless you reaaallly stretch it and say that they’ve gone mad from being confined, but then there’s also Nigel, so unfortunately it doesn’t hold much water.
The Zootopia one… I was envisioning it and even thought it (was the only time I thought about Zootopia) but I didn’t guess. It was after that I realized, “Wait, I just thought Zootopia!” I didn’t even consider in that time it would be it.
13:40 - Funner fact: There is a TH-cam video where someone edited the movie to have the end credits appear before the Claw appears! They then show it to their mom and let her believe that’s it’s ending for whole day! It shows they don’t reveal the truth to her until breakfast the next day!!! 😮😮😮

I wish Disney kept that Zootopia dark story line. They used to do dark topics like Hunchback of Notre Dame, or dark scenes like in Snow White or Black Cauldron.

Yes in the original story her sisters find her and they have traded their hair for a knife. Saying if she stabs the prince she will be freed from her contract with the sea witch. She doesnt and goes into the ocean she becomes foam and afterwards becomes a some sort of air nymph. At least in Hans Christian anderson version of the story.
@2:41- She didn't drown, she turned into bubbles. If you're going to talk about the original source, get it right. But yes the MC does die sadly. @4:18- Uhhhhh, yes 200 is A LOT, but give more context, were they adult deer (when NO fawns were around) and was it hunting season? I don't know the laughs back then, but people do hunt for food. There are laws now though and one of the biggest was you can't shoot deer when there are fawns around. You have to make sure an adult is alone, you have to have a license to hunt, and it has to be deer season. I know this because I have family members who are hunters. The ones I got on the first try were movies I've seen a lot of. I'll admit, I was pleasantly surprised y'all did Scar's death instead of Mufasa's death. So it was a nice change of pace.
@@Zodia195 to be fair I think she intended to drown and/or turn to sea foam (I can't remember if the foam thing was revealed before or only after she threw herself off the ship) to simply disappear except the foam instead rose and she became an air spirit thanks to her good heart and determination, or something like that? Which could also explain your "bubbles" confusion.

Little mermaid doesn't drown, the condition by the seawitch was, if her prince married someone else, she'd turn into seafoam, so her sisters pleaded with the seawitch, got her a dagger which she was supposed to stab the prince with except she couldn't so instead she turned into seafoam, and then because she wasn't human she was given the chance to become an angel, only if she did some seemingly impossible task, like 100 good deeds or something, except everytime a baby cried another deed would be added for her to do. Hans Christian Andersen wrote it, in part, as an allegory for how he felt about being bisexual
