Some people bashed her where in fact she reached in Top 6. It was very challenging for her to get a back to back win since Pia set a high bar of standard, too. What's bad for Filipino people is this crab mentality to degrade someone when she didn't meet their expectations. Why can't they support and be proud of her? Reaching top 6 is already a success.

Those are just bandwagon fans who ride the coattails of Pia Wurtzbach's and Catriona Gray's success and not knowing Philippine pageantry as a whole especially in the 2000s when no Filipina was placed in Miss Universe.

Tbh, napaka underrated ni Maxine. If hindi nalipasan ng taon, hindi marerealize ng karamihan kung gaano niya nalampasan ang pressure ng pagrepresent ng PH. Imagine, double pressure yung hinandle niya (aiming for back2back win & host country) but she managed to look calm, confident, and graceful.

I can't say that maxine started the fringe gown in MU but rather she started the trend of using this kind of style or fabric. Observe the following year after her, There are several girls who followed the trend even up to this day. It's very eye catching and pleasing especially in motion plus given the fact that it also looks different and unique from others which

Honestly kung a year after pa si Max nilaban and nabigyan ng training pagdating sa q&a, for sure winner siya. She’s the most radiant among all our mu reps. Sa q&a lang talaga kinulang kasi hindi siya impactful. Pero iba talaga ang beauty ni Max. Super ganda and very natural ang walk and you can really tell that she’s enjoying every walks on the stage.

Her pinay look is the type of beauty that should represent the Philippines, not the half cast! I can see Miss Lou Yanong in her! Lou Yanong given the chance, training, honing her craft can be a good contender. She still lacks confidence, but that can be overcome by proper training. Maxine is definitely beautiful, but who doesn't get rattle when the whole world is watching? Confidence, confidence, confidence! I hope someone in the pageantry world of the Philippines will notice this Lou Yanong, get her out of showbiz, she's better off as a beauty queen!

She was heavily bashed as a Filipina contestant but I commend her for her Alta Walk. Maxine exudes with confidence, grace and a bit flirtiness. She maybe bashed with her Q&A but overall, she is a Queen. She is also a great actress in television.
Maxine for me is our most charming candidate. I can't blame her because she was bullied as a child and that greatly affected her self esteem and communication skills. I can totally relate and feel for her. And what she lacks in that department, she makes up in other aspects. She is truly stunning and that gowns looked regal and striking when she was wearing and modelling those. We love you forever Maxine!

For the past decade, the Philippines made a significant remark as they placed at almost 12 years consecutively.
