(also commented on Joel's video v=pY8T_iBgdIw ) So basically what happened is, the Korean developer of Bååbösåångjåår _intended_ for the English to be broken... but not _this_ broken. He's actually working on a Korean-language patch to address this, marking one of the few times in history a Korean developer has made a game in not-Korean first and patched it to Korean later. Also, shortly after the game released he was enlisted in Korean military service.
I just wanted to mention! When I first saw Liminal Gallery I got a bit heated that something with the exact same mechanics to Viewfinder came out very soon after Viewfinder did and was getting some fair attention, but I checked the developer's page and they didn't just act like it was their idea, they addressed Viewfinder and just wanted to try to recreate the effect themselves in their own game. So if anyone was upset at all at thinking they just took it and acted like it was their idea, they absolutely did not! I also agree with Vinny that the concept works really well with a creepy and surreal atmosphere. Also seeing BÅÅBÖSÅÅNGJÅÅR again was wonderful
If anything I'm disappointed they ignored most of the liminal and horror aspects. They didn't lean far enough into the things that made it unique, imo, which is going to garner them negative attention.
I hope Vinny stays true to his word and that "Bååbösåångjåår" keeps getting shafted and he ends up playing it again 6 months from now for only 10 minutes each time.
I don't know why, but Vinny so confidently proclaiming that he "skipped an entire level" at 18:50 because he can't remember what the place he was in 2 seconds ago look like is so damn funny, especially since the "logical" result of his action in the first place would be to bring him back to the same level he just left. Amazing.
ehh, not really. he just wasnt paying attention. The thing is, there are 2 logical results: going to a specific level, or going to the next level All modern game engines organize levels by giving them a sequential numerical integer identifier. I believe the dev was aware of exploitation possibilities and simply went the extra meter to program the level exit door like that, hardcoding where they lead individually.
@@ChicDead26 "All modern game engines organize levels by giving them a sequential numerical integer identifier." Huh, no they don't? There's like a million different ways to handle and organizing levels/transitions and how you do it simply depends on what you need. It's not even a complex thing to do, if this is made in Unity for example you would simply set the specific door to trigger a specific scene transition, that's it. I would actually say using a integer system were you go ++1 to transition is like asking for trouble for no real reason, especially in a game like this.
@@magepie2824 by heavens, what compelled you to write so rudely? the game engine does organize the levels like that; in fact, your entire reply makes it clear that you understood everything i had said, and you even rewrote a portion of my explanation. I would totally play "prop clue" games like Area 61 if there were ones for games, more movies etc. I found it funny that there were a bunch of neat props for all these movies while Vinny's favourite (where anything in it would've made a cool prop) was reduced to just the poster stencil-graffiti'd on the wall lol Also 47:33 really good movie spotted (American History X, the picture frame of the hand on the chest), would highly recommend
I like how Vinny was apologizing up and down about trying to find the blade runner reference as if it wasn't super entertaining. It's always fun watching a nerd in their natural environment

Well, the whole idea of liminal spaces is the unnerving feeling you get when a place that feels like people should inhabit it is depicted as decrepit or strangely lacking in people, leading to a sense of dread and aloneness, so maybe Liminal Man could play off that, especially if there's questions of realm fuckery and what's going on. Imagine a game that starts in a shopping mall full of what you'd expect, people buying stuff, talking with friends, hanging out, eating at a food court, but the player encounters a strange man with some quirk to give him that creepypasta horror vibe a la slendy or some shit who just suddenly transports the player to the same mall, but everyone's gone and it looks like nobody's been in it for a week or two. Is this a different reality? A different universe? A time jump? Some realm only the Liminal Man controls? If so, to what ends? I feel like there could be something there, especially if you had artists good at nailing that aesthetic of places that feel familiar, like you've definitely been there before even if logically you know you haven't. Give Liminal Man to tumblr and wait for the tidal wave or horny art and Liminal Man will become the next big thing in no time.

I do actually get a little bit of chromatic aberration when i wear my glasses, that's simply cause of how much they have to correct but the lenses arent high quality enough to bend all frequencies of light to the same amount (i need to get them changed at some point). specifically i see yellow further out and blue inwards, but luckily it's only if i'm looking far enough to the side
