I purchased this system to replace the old one (also a BakFlip) on my 2011 F-150. The old one had deteriorated and the latching bar on the end came off in my hand. Also, some of the rubber had deteriorated thanks to those great Texas summers with lots of sun. In all fairness, this was on the truck when I bought it 10 years ago, and I don't think it was new then. The new unit is much lighter than the old unit and there have been some improvements made. For example, the rods that hold the system up when fully folded had a bad habit of coming unscrewed and falling out. Locktite would take care of that. The new ones seem to be permanently fastened to the swivel mount, so that took care of that problem. Second was the catches used to store the rods when not in use. They were plastic on the old one (I replaced them with adell fasteners). The new ones also appear to be plastic but a different design. So far they are holding the rods very well. It took some time and experimenting to get the cover situated properly, so that it didn't leak. Fortunately, it worked out and is now working fine. All in all, I am very pleased with the system. The F-150 install looks straight forward. Good luck installing it on a Ranger. 3 sets of instructions, all different, missing parts, had to go buy washers from the hardware store
had one on my 2014. did not sit flat in the middle. always had a small hump in 2nd hinge area. no idea why. anybody else have this problem. i have a retrax on my 2019 but it takes up too much of the bed.
Everytime I try to install the side rails the clamps wont hold in position. Even with someone helping me keep the rails in place, the clamps tighten to a certain point and the slip off. What am I dont wrong? I am installing on a 2020 Ranger.
I just received my 2019 with the factory sticker trifold. It only folds the rear two thirds onto the 1st section, but will not flip up. I want to flip it up like the BAKFlip. Does you BAKFlip just leaking around the perimeter into the bed or do the 3 folding hinges leak down onto the cargo too? Please BAKFlip owners, reply.

I just installed mine on a 21 Sierra. Had some major downpours and did get some water near the cab. Looks like I have some adjustments to do. When installed correctly, how waterproof(resistant) is this cover? Can you take it into a car wash and not have water come in? I am just trying to get my understanding of limitations.
@@dnr733 I had leaks everywhere. Again, I would shop elsewhere for a cover. This one looks great, but the design allows water to come in from the seems and the front near the cab. Not worth the ~$1000 price.
Don’t buy it. Worse product ever. No quality control whatsoever. The bolts didn’t fit, holes didn’t line up with my truck pre drilled holes and product cheaply made. What a disappointment.
I think you're mostly paying for full use of your bed if you need it. If you don't need a cover that folds all the way up against the back glass you can get a good cover for significantly cheaper.

I would also put a lock washer or thread lock on the clamps, those style tend to fall off.

Can you install this before you install a bedrug if you were installing both or would the bed rug need to be installed first?

You mention that if you have a bed liner you don’t need the seal? I see a sprayed in bed liner, what am I missing? Thanks!
