I had the honour to play along Stiggy in that Brilliant 1997 1st XV nothing can compare to what he did on the field. He was absolutely a wonderful sight to see with his fleet foot work and ability to maintain his speed at the same time he stepped. People say he is a Legend at NC and GPS, I for one will say that he is a Immortal at NC and GPS 1st XV. Steven Stiggy Batia.. My #14

Legend has it he actually played the 97 Terrace game while sick with Malaria. Only came on when Nudgee knew they needed him, scored first touch, scored again won the game.

I always heard about him when I arrived at Nudgee. Brother Wal and Mr Senior had some pretty good stories about him.
