Wow..great repairs. The bilge and rudder came out great. I will have your package sent at the beginning of this week. That should complement that bilge nicely! Marie, sorry your mom took a fall. Im sure she was glad to spend time with you.
Marie says that is very thoughtful of you. I’m excited to get the dry bilge pump and see if it gets my bilge anywhere near as dry as yours !
@@CruisingThisOldBoat Im sure it will.
I wanted to let you know that I received the package. I can’t wait to install it ! Thanks again !!
@@CruisingThisOldBoat Outstanding! Hope it helps make the admiral happy...lol.
Just watched this episode for the first time. I had the chuckle because i had the same problem on my DeFever 40, drove me crazy to always have a wet center bilge. Did the same "upgrade" you did several years ago by creating a foward, middle and rear sump areas for the bilge pumps. Still a mystery how the water gets in, but at least the bilge is dry! Nice work!
Thanks - I still think the best way to make the bilge drier is to cut a 3” deep well just big enough to put the bilge pump into. Then it would drain everything in the bilge except for the 2.5 inches in that well. But I’m afraid to cut a whole in the bottom of the boat. I’m not sure how wide the keel is at that point.
BTW. - I wouldn’t mind some pics of your setup if it is keeping things dry - mine improved the problem but did not solve it
Two months ago i installed a rule low profile bilge pump, not much bigger than a flashlight, it works great but if it gets dirty it sticks and you have to pour soapy water on top of it to clean automatic sensor
I’ve wondered how well those work - thanks !
I got 4 bilge pumps
That’s a lot to maintain. Our bilge only uses one but I do have an emergency backup installed.
Savannah boat show Feb 23-25 canceled.....
Bummer - what was the reason?
