I just bought this , rainbow Islands, vendetta and rastan saga on ps4 arcade archives and im gassed ! I'm 47 yrs old and I used to bunk school and play these I. Arcades ❤❤❤
Man this game was so cool in the arcades back then. That rotating joystick was so intuitive, and it provided something you truly couldn’t get with a home system.
Ikari Warriors was actually supposed to be Ralf's third game, as the second game in which he appeared was Iron Tank, which was like a sequel to T.N.K III.
@@GeneralBeeZaa Iron Tank/Great Tank wasn’t released until 1988, as Ikari Warriors and Victory Road were both released in 1986. The Iron Tank storyline is set in WWII (though, Ralf is the main character in the JP version)
IKARI WARRIORS was one of the first games, my older brother ever got for our first Amiga 500. In fact, we got our first Amiga 500 (STARTER KIT) for christmas 🎁🎄🎅 back in the late 1980's. At that same holiday, we also got the game compilation, TEN STAR PACK. I got myself these games: - THUNDERCATS - BUGGY BOY - THE ART OF CHESS - INSANITY FIGHT - TERRORPODS And my brother got these games: - AMEGAS - BARBARIAN: THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR - IKARI WARRIORS - MERCENARY / THE SECOND CITY - WIZBALL The original Arcade version of IKARI WARRIORS looks and sounds as brilliant as the Amiga version 😺👍🕹️. It's even much better 🐱👍🕹️ than VICTORY ROAD - which i had for my Amiga 500 back in the early mid 2010's 😹. I still have the Commodore 64 version of this game in a compilation called FISTS 'N' THROTTLES. It's pretty cool - at least the music 🎵🎶 is brilliant 😺👍🕹️. And you, AL82, are a flawless gamer 😺👍🕹️! A big retrospective like 👍🕹️ from Vantaa, Finland 🇫🇮.
Midnight Resistance used that rotary joystick too. And borrows a fair bit from Contra. Plus its in Robocop 2 in the arcade scene along with Bad Dudes. 😀
Does anyone know what the final boss actually is at the very end? He looks huge and dead or zombie looking, sat on a throne? Or a name perhaps ? Cheers
The japanese version makes it clear that you're fighting Neo-Nazis since there are swastikas on the floor near the final boss, so I guess it's supposed to be a Nazi leader, probably Hitler. He looks like a corpse connected to some machines, in the process of being revived, perhaps?
Man, this brings back memories!! My friends and I riding our ten speeds to the 711 was such a carefree, fun time..😊

This is Ralf’s _second_ game. (The first was _TNK-III_ )

Ralf Jones & Clark Still on mission!
Who are they? I played this on the new! It was special 2 player. We had fun..
@@Tommi1981
They are characters who appear in The King of Fighters as Team Ikari.
@@GeneralBeeZaa Ok. Cool. I didn't know SNK had mascots" like these. Or, like Superstars! Thank you.
@@Tommi1981
No problem, sir.
I've liked them since the first KOF game...even before Kyo or Terry's team.
@@GeneralBeeZaa I know them better now. Ive played this for the Nes. Didn't know they got spinoff games :)
This game was just the best in arcades. The infamous C64 port depressed me as a kid.
Had no idea the final boss was the Emperor of Mankind!
The USA C64 port, right? The UK one was great
One of my faves from my youth! Do Victory Road next! 💯👍🙏
Let's not forget IKARI WARRIORS III 😺👍🕹️.

Why is the final boss a rotting corpse? And why is your commander so freaking big? It’s like you’re rescuing Godzilla!
俺はこのゲームが好きだったな😀何回か全面クリアした事あったよ。キャラ的はランボーに似ている。このゲームの続編の怒号層圏(1986年)もリリースされた。
Os famosos Clark e Ralf
where can i get a joystick for my arcade 1 up?
Played this one first on the Amiga. The port wasn't so bad.
