Yeah, I remember the AI was laughably bad in this level. The developers probably thought it would be too hard if they used decent AI.
I think that's what makes it hard, you have to unlearn ai from other missions and relearn for this one singular mission, makes you feel like a buffon when you predict how the ai will act then it does a 180
