Oooooo thank you!! I love a handmade item and I was hoping this piece was one!! I can’t imagine how long a sweater would take to make - I tried knitting once and literally had nightmares about counting the loops so I gave it up within a week 🫢

@@WellREDWardrobe Knitting would give me nightmares, too! That’s why I crochet, just one hook to use instead of two knitting needles, way less confusing.

Thanks!! I’m thinking to add some more lifestyle content because my life is so different now - not specific from American to Australian per se, but how I am living life has certainly changed. Walking, especially. I’m walking 2-4 miles a day and that’s certainly new!!

Ibis will take your food right out of your hand. With that knife of a beak. They’re terrifying. They’re called bin chickens because they will eat anything out of a bin, and make a total mess.
Which market were you at? I thought it was Glebe at first, but they don’t have that many food vendors.
Great haul 😊 Especially since everything is so expensive in Australia.

Glebe is correct actually! It changes week to week and sometimes its filled with food and live music. I had an ibis steal a bite of salad from my lunch the other day and it definitely kind of terrifying, they have zero fear of people! Thanks for watching and commenting :)

You look gorgeous, friend! What fun to have markets like that near you! You got some really cute stuff-especially the witchy dress, granny square cardigan, lip dress & those fancy jellies! I cracked up at “bin chickens”! I’d be the dumb tourist trying to cuddle a Koala-but they don’t want to kill you…do they?! 🤣 Excited to watch your next chapter!

I was last at the market in March of 2020 and found some high end designer pieces for amazing prices. Todays goal is a bit different though!

In Australia, we call it Op- Shopping not thrifting.

Did you find out why they don’t do Halloween? The stories I’ve seen about wildlife in Australia makes me afraid to even visit. So definitely don’t touch the animals! $5 is high. I think the way to get started in negotiating is by finding several items and getting a bundle price. I was never a negotiator, but I’ve gotten pretty good at it at yard sales. I’ll usually set something down and say I’m still looking and then we’ll see what you can do for me if I got a bunch of stuff. Something like that. You’ll figure it out. Do they have yard sales there? You need to get a wagon. Hey you are sooooo welcome! Ferragamo jellies, adorable. Love the witchy dress and the crochet sweater. Neither knit nor crochet have to be handmade. I think you did quite well. When I first started watching, any market like that, that I’ve ever gone to, would not be a good place to source. It’ll probably take a while to get over the sticker shock.

Halloween isn’t a super popular holiday here as far as I’ve been told, it doesn’t have the same appeal as in America and I will miss that!! Also, I’ll just have to throw a big Halloween party every year starting next year once I’ve settled and made friends lol. I do see some costumes and decor in the mall, but it’s so little comparatively. Sticker shock is real for sure and bartering is a skill I’ll have to practice and get good at! Not sure about yard sales, I’ve seen one poster for one so far, mostly yards are small here so close to the city and parking is a beast, so the market stalls are seemingly what people gravitate towards. Casual stalls are allowed, so some friends get together and share the expense for one day and clear house and closet. We’ll see how it goes and what else I can discover. Thank you for your support, Elahnah!
